Getting gold from a friend

Hello there ppl,I have been wondering since I can't find any clear statement about getting golds from friend,would it be legal if ( in my case ) a RL friend is qutting the game due to real life commitments and he wants to pass me the gold since he won't be using them anymore,would that be considered an illegal activity or what ?

He is allowed to give you his gold, as long as you don't pay for it in any way.
