In-game character name : Morflol
Hello, i'll just sum up what happened.
I went to moonglade to talked to the NPC to buy the runned arcanite rod formula.
Put my mouse on the formula and push my macro button which is simply right clicking for me.
Came back and saw my account was banned....is this kind of real bad joke?
I've been using my naga for more than 4 years on officials and never had such issues, so i'm wondering : Is it bannable to use my Naga macros for real? I mean, i've never been into any troubles, if it's not ok on Nostralius then disconnect me, send me a warning email saying "hey it's not ok to use your naga macros here".
I'm a grown up man i'd understand and follow the rules. I didn't use any 3rd party programs or such things, i really don't understand this ban unless it's something automated maybe?
Thanks for reviewing my case.

The software you need to get the Naga Macros working (driver) is actually a 3rd party program.
Just saying

I don't understand why people don't see this as a third party program. You are away from the game while an action is being done. No different then if you used it to not go AFK in a BG. Good luck leveling up again.

Seriously. I didn't know what a Naga macro was, so I looked it up. It's pretty much textbook bannable, and almost every search result about it says it will get you banned from retail servers.

A clicking macro to get a limited stock recipe while you were afk?
Uhhh.....
Keystroke assignments for the Razer Naga and the Logitech SetPoint stuff is fine. You can make any combination of keystrokes on press that you want. An automated clicking macro for something like that obviously isn't.

Well, first of all, if you had read the rules this is clearly stated as against the rules. Secondly, "unless it's something automated maybe?" Yeah, it's automated gameplay. That's exactly what you described in your appeal. Anytime you can walk away from the keyboard and have a program performing a continual function for you, that's exactly what automation is. (No, not like numlocking/autorun. That's a built in game feature.)

Hello!
Using any form of third-party software to execute/perform an action is considered botting. And is against the Terms of Use(
https://en.nostalrius.org/terms-of-use) any account found to be botting will (as per ToU) face permanent closure

It was just trying to buy one for myself, not trying to make any profit of it. Admins can check my char, i have 288 enchanting and all the comps to craft the rod. Not trying to make profit of it.
Altho, if i follow what you guys are saying, addons like Auctioneer should be bannable....they clearly save you a lot of clicks and allow you to snipe auctions using LUA scripts lol.....
Explain me the difference between an addon which is doing all the job for you and a built-in feature on my mouse...
If i used that on BG to farm honor, i'd understand the ban, it unbalances the BG and i'm the first one against that crap. I've been using my Naga's macros on official servers for years as i said, and it wasn't against their rules.
Multiboxing on officials is OK and it still allow you to control over 40 characters at a time while you only play 1. Here multiboxing is forbidden because accounts are free to play and people would abuse.
BUT in my case i doubt my mouse is doing more than a multiboxing program is doing for an user.
And in any case, just disconnecting me and sending me a warning email would have been fair enough.
If i knew it wasn't OK to use it do you really think i'd have done that with my main character?
A perma ban is clearly paying the hard price for this mistake...

Greetings!
Regardless of intent when using third-party software, the Game Masters will carry action out as per the Terms of Use.
For your other question: The difference between an addon, and you using a built-in feature on your mouse if fairly simple. Addons are features in the game. But using the feature on your mouse to run macros requires a program to be running in the background(a third-party software) and again, this is considered botting and is against the Terms of Use
