Hi dear GMs!

Yesturday my rogue Aldarkh was permanently banned and accused of botting in BG. I played for about an hour and while doing AV I was studying and I did not participate like I should have. I did not, however, at any time use some sort of botting program to keep me from beeing flagged AFK. I was moving around, pressing space while reading, attacking and defending. I understand this is bad manner to leech rep and not fight to 100%. I would accept something like a 3d ban or even a 7d ban, dident really think of it as bannable. I left during the second BG to do some laundry and when getting back I was expecting me sitting in Og with the deserter debuff, but instead I had been kicked and banned. I have 20d played or something and never before broke any rules, but 30min pressing space would result in a permaban? Isn't that a little harsh?

You made me the most happy man on earth when I got the opportunity to go raid vanilla again, but now it feels like my dog was murdured and I cant do anything about it.

I've got great concern for my guildies, I do understand he might have not always been attentive but it's not a reason for account closure for botting as I'am completely sure he wouldn't been botting.

I'am in no way blaming the devs, I can definitenly understand that someone smashing space button would come off as a botter. Now if possible, I would like to have a review in this case and perhaps lighten on the penalty by perhaps making it a day/week bann instead.

I'll have a talk with all of the guildies and make sure noone from Regementet will be afk leeching in the future.
I'm sure I hate this as much as you do and I gurantee you that my part of working against afkers will continue till the day I quit this project.

Absolutely, people that leech their way in ranking is a serious matter and a big problem on the realm.
It's pretty known that Alterac Valley however, is a bit more of a grayzone. Generally nobody really gets into an AV with the intent of making the utmost maximum honor per hour and alot people just use Alterac as a way of quickly farming Black Lotus and Rich Thoriums.

Sure, he was afk momentarily, but he was indeed not botting and shouldn't be penalized as such.
That's the difference, I want everyone that afks to have their accounts seized and locked down for a good while, but not permanently unless this is a repeated offense. Or botted for that matter.

Maybe it's worth noting that if I was indeed using a bot I woulden't bother apealing the punishment, I trust people to make the right decision.

I would probably head out and buy a new dog instead.
