Thread for status updates on my ban appeal/review

It was suggested to me that I would have more luck here rather than bugging the GMs via PM. I apologize if I seem impatient, just looking for acknowledgment that my ban is indeed under review. Copy/pasting an old PM I sent containing the pertinent details of my case.

If nothing else, I would greatly appreciate it if this thread be allowed to remain open until a definitive decision has been reached and expressed.

Mjl wrote:First, I apologize for the length of the post. There is a tl;dr at the bottom, but the details in the meat of the post are very pertinent to my situation.

I, a west coast United States player (Nostalrius PvP, character MJL), was mistaken to be a Chinese win-trader, and my account was permanently closed in last week's wave of bans. While I am glad you guys care about your server enough to enforce rules against blatant cheating, in my case you banned an innocent player.

My time of play (evenings in my time zone) just so happens to line up with morning time in China, and apparently I as a solo-queuer was ending up in a bunch of their win-trade games. I had nothing to do with those stupid, server-ruining fucks. Every scrap of honor I had was earned legitimately.

I am willing to fully cooperate and provide any information to prove my innocence. I can supply photo identification verifying that I am in fact a white California resident, not a Chinaman. In fact, my character name in game (MJL) is the initials of my full name. If you have the capability of checking my chat logs and who I kept company with inasmuch as my friends list and guildies (lots of prominent and legitimate Euro PvPers, many regular posters on this forum), that alone should be enough to exonerate me. Hell, in recent days, I was actively and vocally complaining about the presence of Chinese shitters in battlegrounds!

...

I had something like 20 days played, had multiple real life friends playing here, and I feel like I've been robbed of four months's worth of free time. Prior to this I was very happy to have found a vanilla server with such competent developers and helpful staff, but this kind of dismissive and unfair conduct feels like Feenix all over again.

I would sincerely appreciate a response.

tl;dr I was unfairly banned (yes, really) and I am desperate for fair treatment. I will cooperate fully in any way I can to exonerate myself of this false allegation of win-trading.

Trying to stay patient. I understand you guys are busy.

Thanks.

I remember you. Big player. You were slightly before my time, I think. Like you hit 13 right around when I hit 10. I came into TC towards the end, about the same time as Warlee, and around when Ethugs, Xaiz, Sylphanos, and a few others (I remember a druid back then running our premades) were ranking. Ethugs is the one who encouraged me to apply.

I've forgotten so many of those names since then. Feel free to fill in the gaps if you remember others, just to satiate my curiosity if nothing else. I like to reminisce :D

Next to TBC retail, though, that was seriously the most fun I've had on WoW. So many good players, so many great prem vs prem games. Lots of good memories. The peak of my vanilla PvP experience.

Thanks for saying hi, and thank you for the support.

In regard of how much the devs and staff have got to deal with, I can understand the time it will take to investigate alot of the ban appeals that have popped up lately and it's perfectly fine.

However, I would like for you to dig into this one as I doubt Mjl (from my ALlYeAnX FeAgot PVP guilda) would ever be wintrading and even more so not with any chinese.
We all love cinnamon rolls.
This is like me getting permed for some kind of collaboration with the chinese.

Either way, I completely understand you've got alot on your hands, but please don't ban this little priest because he accidentally appeared into some pug games with china wintraders and only because one of their guys were afk on queue pop. I know this sensitive little nerd actually wants to play, even though he should return to irl and pick his mess of a life up (just like the rest of us).

I hope this whole situation works out and we're able to keep laughing at the real cheaters for their suspensions.

With the best of regards,
Niko

This is blatant racism. I don't understand why racism is tolerated here.
============================================================================

The OP reminded me of a paid "service" in the most popular WoW retail Botter forum that undertakes to compose and exchange e-mails with Blizzard attempting to unban perma-banned WoW Botter accounts.

I cannot believe that we have reached such levels of sophistication here, heh.

When I played retail, my hobby was to track down and get botters banned, so I had to read their forums to gain insight about where to look for them.

good luck mate, personally I am only waiting a few more days to be justified and if it doesn't happen i'm done waiting. Missing the entire AV weekend and deranking because the server made an error will be the last straw for me and I guess I'll just have to play elsewhere. I would make a character to play here with the small time I have left before I go back to work full time but not if this can just happen again :(

It's a real shame. I was really enjoying the server. I just spent 2 months grinding to lvl 60, and wasn't even 60 for a full week before being banned by mistake. I'm not even that upset about the anti-cheat detection system making a mistake, I get that shit happens. It's that it's taken a week now to review my case when its something that I didn't think would take more than a couple minutes of looking at the logs to verify and prove my innocence from a ban I shouldn't of even received in the first place is what is driving me insane here. Not that I expected to be unbanned on the spot but certainly didn't think it would go beyond a couple of days. I fear that the high population, as much of a blessing as it has been while playing on the server, is now working against us. Good luck.

If they unban me today I will donate.

Please stop spewing this curling politically correct bullshit in these serious topics, you sweet honeybee.

Mjl is definitely innocent. I play relatively the same hours as him and I never saw him do anything remotely close to wintrading. Please take the time to review his case. He is a great player and would be a valuable part of the community.
