Warning for "safe spotting"

Warning for "safe spotting"

by Thirsty » Fri Feb 19, 2016 10:39 am

I put a ticket in game after receiving mail saying that I have officially been warned for "safe spotting" in Silithus and am still yet to receive a reply after close to 2 days.

This is completely false as your own GMs do not appear to understand what safe spotting actually is. It implies that I was attacking people in pvp from a spot where the guards have no path to reach me if I aggro them. I was simply out ranging the guards while attacking people, not glitching them out by standing in an unreachable position.

It is a worry that your GMs aren't on the same page when it comes to the rules in vanilla wow. There has been an official statement on the fourms (linked below) that what I was doing is not against the rules yet I am still warned as if I have done something wrong.

GM post on the topic : https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=35177

Pottu: "Greetings,

safe spotting is not allowed. If you see a character utilizing a spot on where the guards cannot reach them, then please take a clear screenshot and include a link to it in your ticket. Note that just out-ranging guards is allowed, like often happens at Light's Hope Chapel - just run to the attacking player and you can fight them safely.

We have been buried under an unusual amount of tickets lately, which explains why response times in some situations have been longer than normal. Apologies for this.

The GM team."

Same exact thing happend to me, I got a warning for out ranging guards aggro range (Not being in a actual safe spotting place where guards cant get to you). However the funny part is that it was Pottu who gave me a warning who just the day before wrote this on the forums: https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic. ... 77#p246753

And I even asked a GM if I were allowed to PvP inside Cenarion Hold etc. before I actually started doing it, heres the conversation: http://i.imgur.com/x86YaRc.png

So im very confused. I even remember in retail vanilla Cenarion Hold being a complete graveyard so I dont see why it cant be pvp heavy on Nostalrius, its a PvP zone with a PvP event afterall.

I'm just gonna hijack your thread (Hope you dont mind) and ask the GM's if you could look into it for me aswell, character name: Crewzix

I'm glad you posted Cruzix, the more information we can provide the better.

The funny thing about my case is I had a GM whispering me for an unrelated matter while I was PvPing in Cenarion Hold and asked him to come and watch me to verify if what I was doing was against the rules. The GM (I can't remember the name) said there was no problem, much like you experienced.

Hey any chance on getting a response? I'd like to know I can do some world PvP without being banned by a GM that doesn't understand the rules.

Stop being a drama queen - You can still world PvP while they are looking into the issue - You make it sound like you cannot.

You have also been told before that they have a high number of issues and it will take time to get to less important ones like this.

Honestly - You go on like you have no life and this server has been created just for you.

Also was this you in these pictures?

What makes you think I am that mage? He is clearly safe spotting in those screenshots, I was doing nothing like that.

How is one a drama queen for wanting a response after over 1 week? I could potentially get banned for world pvping because the GMs aren't applying the rules in a consistent way.

I didnt use that place either, however thats not even safespotting, guards can go up there - if you slow fall on the inn or the pillar beside the inn thats safespotting since it makes the guards evade and stay in combat with you
