Ban - Appeal

Hi Team,

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for what you are doing. I haven't had so much fun playing WoW in literally years!

Now to the topic at hand - An account of ours got banned yesterday - Character Name: "Minerbankero"

Ever since we started playing here, we've been playing together with a friend of mine - JohnyT. We are leveling together, sharing loot, gold and anything in between that we may need.

As we are still new players and our inventory got a bit full, we created a third account that would host our "bank" character (the above mentioned, now banned, "Minerbankero"). Like I said, we share everything and that included our 3rd account used as a bank.

We were both using Minerbankero to trade, store items and even check the AH while we are questing/in a dungeon.

Last night, my friend realized our bank account has been banned. Now, there weren't many things that are valuable in the character. If you guys can unban him, that's cool. If not, we understand as well.

The thing that is more important to us, is to understand what rule have we broken, in order to avoid any similar problems in the future.

If you can provide a link or a thread that banking characters are being discussed, we would immensely appreciate that!

In advance, thank you for looking into this :)

Kind Regards,
Anton

I can answer this one u just admitted to account sharing which violates the ToS,Any violation the the toS is terms for a ban of said account i would suggest u each either 1. each make a bank toon and delegate selling items to both in a split or however else but dont have 2 different people logging into the acocunt

Read the terms of use, the thing you agreed to when you made the account. https://en.nostalrius.org/terms-of-use

from ToU: "You may not purchase, sell, gift, share, lend or trade any account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift, share, lend or trade any account, and any such attempt will result in an immediate account closure."

I don't need to "admit" to anything, as neither me nor my friend have anything to hide :) I am more then willing to share any information our GMs ask of me, as I believe we haven't done something that would undermine the server itself or hurt any other playing within our realm.

I understand and read the ToU and I don't believe the above quoted rule is meant as a restriction that should be applied in our case. Our actions do nothing more then enhance our coop playstyle and do not impact negatively on anyone playing on Nostalrius.

By looking at the ToU, there are clearly outlined rules for "multiboxing":

Terms of Use wrote:There are a few specific situations where you may have two characters in-game simultaneously, *only while both characters are in a major city*:

Transferring items between accounts;
Using professions, as long as no farming or material gathering is involved;
Crafting, enchanting, banking and/or for trading purposes that does not include the Auction House.
Portalling a second account only to and from major cities.

What would be the difference in me using my own banking account compared to my and a friend I've been playing with for years having a joint one?

Please do not take offense in my post or my arguments. If I've done something wrong, I will gladly admit it and apologize. I am simply trying to find a rule-complaint way to play in our server :)

Kind Regards,
Anton

One of them is only ever accessed by the original creator of the account, and the latter is shared between multiple players.

I don't necessarily agree with everything in the ToU; but that is what is intended when they say "any form of account sharing will result in a permanent ban"

Not everything in the ToS makes total sense but its there so that people cant gain an unfair advantage by having a toon logged 24/7 to farm gold or honor you asked what rule you broke and how to avoid it in the future the truth is having 2 ppl log onto a acc at any point in time is a violation of the ToS and any violation is means for a ban unfortunately there isnt going to be a way for you to get this overturned

Greetings,

The account associated with Minerbankero was banned by our chat filter system. However, the ban will remain due to the account sharing that occurred with the account.
