I do realise that it doesnt matter if it was GF jumping with my character once in a while, while I was doing stuff away from the keyboard, or if it was a actual bot. however, I do feel that a permanent ban seems a bit harsh. I have seen other cases on streams where people have used bots/cheats and only getting banned for a amount of time 1-2weeks.

is there anyway I can appeal to your understanding and get my punishment reduced to this? - I have no interest in botting or cheating in this game.

You are right: no difference, since that would have been account sharing, which is (also) bannable.
Why don't you just leave the BG if you don't have time to play?

I guess I am just not as precocoius as you. however, if you missed it, it is exactly what I am asking for - a chance to leave the BG the next time, rather than being permanently banned.

Bans for botting (and cheating, and in fact account sharing) are always permanent.
You are free to create a new account and follow our rules.
