My account is hacked, what should I do?

Hello.

Last night (around 1 AM server time) when I was playing on my warlock, I saw a link in the world chat that directed me to a website which looked just like the Nostalrius website. The only thing I could do on this website was to enter my mail address which I did without thinking. After doing this, the site redirected me to the site again which I thought was weird and it hit me that this isn’t a Nostalrius official website.

After this I went to bed and when I woke up I couldn’t login on my warlock anymore. I tried logging in on the mail address connected to the account and I couldn’t login on the mail address either. At this point I ran my anti-malware software and I found 20+ threats, 4 of which were key loggers.
The question now is if it’s possible for the Nostalrius team to help me retrieve my account or if the account is lost forever. The name of my character is Machinima.

I had alot of gold on this account , if you can see that they mailed gold to another characters please look into that .

You will need to first clean the threats off of your computer, then recover your E-mail account. Once that is done, you can then change your password using the Nostalrius password change facility at https://en.nostalrius.org/password.

We cannot assist you in this recovery, but since it is not possible for the hacker to change your E-mail address or account name, if you can get your E-mail under control you should be able to reclaim the account.

After I made this post I contacted my email company in order to retrieve my email account again. I talked to them and we managed to get my email account back, I deleted all the malware from my computer and I reset all the passwords I could possibly think of. I finally got both my main email address and the alternative email address under control. After all of this was done, I reset the password of my Nostalrius account as well.
