I was banned on both of my accounts for "Multiboxing" even tho I was not playing on the 2nd account. I was afk in durotar on my lvl 8, and I opened a 2nd tab to check the mail on my lvl 60 account. He was in stormwind at the time which is a (major city). I understand both accounts were online so its still considered Mutli boxing even tho I wasn't intentionally playing both. I understand my level 8's account being perma banned, but why the level 60? If he was in a major city isn't that still following the rule on that account?

Both characters have to be in a major city or it is multiboxing.
Although I think multiboxing is only a final warning offense, not a instant perm ban offense..

Being AFK with a low level - even in a major city - is still considered multiboxing.

However, this should only give you a warning for a first-time offense, so either you did "something else", or you had multiboxed before?

But why ban that account in the city? Wouldn't it be right to just ban the account out of a city?

I was warned back in the day because I was playing with both accounts in the same zone. I was always told that logging into a toon in a city was aloud and thats why i logged on my main in Stormwind.

The ToU is quite specific regarding multiboxing in what you can do:

VI. Multiboxing
Multiboxing refers to playing multiple characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple machines to run the Game or by running multiple instances of the Game. The following rules are not meant to be exhaustive, and using multiple characters to level, farm reputation, run dungeons, do raids and/or engage in PVP is considered Multiboxing. Each case of Multiboxing will be judged individually and thoroughly. There are a few specific situations where you may have two characters in-game simultaneously, *only while both characters are in a major city*:

• Transferring items between accounts;
• Using professions, as long as no farming or material gathering is involved;
• Crafting, enchanting, banking and/or for trading purposes that does not include the Auction House.
• Portalling a second account only to and from major cities.
• Playing simultaneously on both PvP and PvE realms. *Not restricted to major cities*

You hit the "yellow" barrier; only one of your characters was in a major city.

And even if your main was also in a major city, your alt should been doing one of the things mentioned in the list (crafting, for example). But he didn't - he was AFK.

Not sure if you were just asking for clarification, or wanted us to look into it. If you do want us to have a look, we will need the name of a character on each account.

If it was a second offence for multiboxing, that will result in a permanent ban on both characters.
