I have no idea why my account got banned.

Hi, I've decided to try out the Nostalrius experience, but after reaching Stormwind for the first time on my level 7 warlock I got banned permanently (!) about 5 minutes after creating a few auctions for Bolts of Linen Cloth. The character I was playing on was a human warlock named "Guthrie" on the pve server. I could just make a new account, but now I don't feel the time investment is worth it if I'm at risk of getting banned at any point. I hope I can get some help and sort out what went wrong.

Do not use the chat below level 15, You got autobanned in the Anti gold spam filter.

Thanks for the swift reply, but where does it say that in the terms of use? Apologies in advance if I'm mistaken, but I couldn't find it when I read it all. Does the autoban script include general chat and "say" or is it just trade chat?

Trade chat. I got permantnt bunn 1h ago for same reason. Bun for message to /2 on 6 lvl. LoL

Your account was banned by our chat spam system. Please try to minimize the use of public chat channels on characters below level 15, and avoid the use of addons that put messages into chat.
This ban is under review, and we will get back to you with a resolution in this thread.

It is not against the terms of use to use the trade chat at low levels. It's just that we have a deluge of gold advertisers and there are automatic systems put in place to try to ban them. We sometimes get false positives from legitimate players, as in your case. Just level up a bit and the issue goes away.
