Youre gonna summon the paladin fuckbois. be careful, you've been warned. Id recommend starting a new thread so you can contain them there.

Oh, I will make it to 60. Maybe just not on a warrior. My time is valuable, so putting little to no research into what to expect would be foolish. I want to ride the wave to 60 and have fun, and not be brick-walled. I had a 60 warrior on retail. But back then, there weren't warriors coming out of everyone's ass. The "rule of thumb" didn't apply back then. These private servers are different.... So I want to know ahead of time what to expect as to not waste my time rolling a class that is gimped endgame until AQ40+ if I will have too much competition to even get in to MC. The life of an endgame warrior isn't as lavish as some would assume. Farming on a warrior is shit. Without a healer babysitting me, PvP is shit. All that is left is being an awesome tank with a full list of friends who need you.... for 5 mans:P Not worth my time, especially if there are more warriors able to use their brain and tank when needed then most people give credit for. As much as some warriors do not want to tank, I am sure most of them don't want to be useless and stuck at 60 as DPS. And don't forget, a DPS warrior pre-AQ is in the same boat as a paladin tank or other hybrid DPS. They can do it, but there are better options. So it's tank or die for a casual warrior like me.

If that is the case, I may as well roll a paladin xD At least there isn't as many, they can AoE farm, run 5 mans easier, bring more utility and can do another desired role when the tsunami of warriors washes the need for raid tanks out of existence. So I rely on you fine people to give me an idea of what the end game landscape may look like and if its worth the dedication, especially as my first character to 60.

And FYI, Paladin's can tank, albeit not as well as warriors. I wont say anything about raiding, but If other people claim It is possible, though not without its own challenges, who am I to disagree? As they say, don't knock it until you try it. As a player who has tanked every expansion since Vanilla, I am curious to see the day these paladins are given a real chance and have people who can defend it without looking foolish. Whether they fail or not, we wont know for sure until the social stigma dies down or some "Raid full of Paladins" comes and proves it once and for all. Math is fun, but seeing it first hand is better.

Once again, thank you for all your replies :)

What are you talking about man. Warriors are currently top dps. Farming is easy and you can do just fine in pvp without a healer.

If you level to 60 before new year I'm pretty sure you will have no problem finding your way into the tank setup of a raiding guild. If you wait a couple of months, you'll be behind many warriors in terms of gear.
But if you like what you do.. I don't see why you wouldn't reach your destination since motivation kills off many players and you would stand out.

Go for it!

I am sorry you feel that way. I apologize for my attitude and not being worth kinder words. I feel a bit defeated, standing beside myself in this choice. After much debate, and reaching 32 on my paladin, I've decided to continue my 25 warrior and have already applied to a raid guild that meets my time schedule in hopes to be all that I can be.

Thanks again to everyone form their kind words. As for those with words less than kind, I hope to one day tank for you and show my worth. See you in game!

No guts, no glory. I'm on the warrior grind as well, hopefully I see you at 60 as well after all of your talk in this thread. ;)

If you're 25 on your warrior then you're already well on your way.

It's definitely an investment well worth your time and you seem very level-headed, a desirable trait in any class.
