those are the patch notes from July 5th, 2015. Dire Maul was released on PVP on May 30th. Gonna have to wait till 1.4 for the class trinkets

Considering that the quest was added in 1.3. And that the items are mentioned as "fixed" in those patchnotes, it would appear to be an oversight by the Devs. Unless they intend the PvE server to go through the same bugfixing stages the PvP server has gone through.

There is a section specific for "FIXED QUESTS," and the books aren't in it. Instead, they are listed later under PVE/DUNGEON: "Dire Maul: DM books now give quests as intended"

If it was a bug it would have been listed as so (and also fixed much quicker). The wording (and the placement in the post) makes it seem very much intentional which is further solidified by the fact that the quests do not work on the PvE realm currently.

Also "it was added in 1.3" doesn't really hold weight, since the loot tables in DM were never mangled like this in retail when it was released in 1.3 (You can check Blizzard's patch notes for that)

Wouldn't this indicate that they were supposed to give the quests from before 1.4?

I was able to turn in the quest from it. I've still yet to do the Onyxia part though.

Not necessarily. It doesn't say "fixed the issue where DM books weren't giving quests as intended. It is simply stating that the books in DM were intended (by Blizzard) to give quests BUT until this point on Nost, they did not. It's not under a bug fix section, so it would be wrong to assume that it was a bug. Also, if it was a bug it would be a huge one. Something they (probably) wouldn't screw up on twice--pvp and pve release--and something that wouldn't take 2 months to hotfix in (one would hope at least).

Nostalrius' has always been a big pusher of their brand as "Blizz-like" aiming to give an experience as close to Vanilla WoW as possible. So since it can be proven that both the Class quests and the missing DM Loot on PvE server was all available on live when DM was released with patch 1.3.0.

I find it hard to believe that a server that aims to be as close to the original as possible is intentionally witholding those class trinkets and certain loot from DM when it is readily available with minimal research that they are supposed to be currently present. I would call that a bug, and its very reasonable that they messed up and had the same bugs twice now. Every major content release on PvE server thus far has gone wrong, Azuregos was late and then they forgot to add in the code to start his automatic respawn timer and had to be manually added again. Kazzak they also forgot to add in the code for an automatic respawn after the inital manual add for launch day so he also had to be manually spawned a second time before the code was implemented. Now DM has released with a plethora of bugs, most if not all of which were present on the PvP server at release. To be fair, it is a free server and to the best of my knowledge all the staff are volunteers so I cant fault them for not being 100% perfect, but it is highly dissapointing all the same.

As would I.

I would for it to be a bug (as it would *hopefully* mean we don't have to wait till 1.4).

As for the server being "blizz-like," I do appreciate the sentiment by Nost and the community, but server side is running on 1.12.1, nothing about that is blizz-like. It's a great server and I love it here, but the blizz-like stuff doesn't really hold much weight (especially considering both Kazzak and Azuregos were released with DM).

Personally, I think the way they are doing it is a tad better, it means we get new content more frequently, instead of having to wait for months on end and things are a little finer tuned. Imagine having no honor point system until 1.4 (6 month wait), or druids having to go 31 points into resto to get innervate?
