If you are on Horde side, avoid players from Good Squad

by dustofoblivion » Sat Nov 14, 2015 8:36 pm

In my experience, a lot of players in this guild are highly toxic, i.e., they flame, rage, play poorly, are just generally unpleasant to play and interact with.

I even had one of their players openly need an item that he didn't need in a dungeon run. I won't name that player out of respect for the forum's policies.

If you don't wanna have a frustrating game experience, I suggest avoiding playing with individuals from that guild. I now systematically put these people on ignore and avoid playing with them as a precaution.

You do realize that your explanation and logic mimics racism.
Some people did some bad things therefore avoid them all.

I'm in good squad, I've never done anything to anyone nor plan too. I played on retail vanilla and I realize how important your reputation is on smaller servers. I can also tell you that from what I understand 99% of people are respectful and here to enjoy the vanilla experience. If you've got problems with a specific individual or individuals please whisper me who they are.

All I'm saying is, go ahead and ignore people who are twats, however it's foolish to avoid a large group of people because of a couple wankers.

I've met a few members of Goon Squad on my Horde toon, and they've not been awful people at all. Look at the individual, not the guild tag. :D

Well, I had contact to people of Goon Squad which were either impatient, bigheaded or like "yo dawg, you're shit" but that isn't really a reason to ignore or to "destroy" the reputation of a whole guild. There are people which are in a good & chill mood.

I agree with mdma, just ignore the people who are fking around and report them to the guild leader with screenshots or smth. The problem will probably be solved then.

We will not hesitate to have a chat with individuals who are not being respectful, we do not wish to keep people with that attitude in the guild. Having people post anti-good squad in world or on the forums does not provide us with any information beyond the fact they had a bad experience with a member. We as a guild have discussed the issue and would love to work on a solution but until we are aware of who did what we can't address the issue.

Goon Squad for me has been a very mixed bag. On one end I get decent members to chat with who are genuine people, Molly is an example here of someone from GS I've gotten along with. Also grouped with a few of them who have not been problematic in any way, shape or form.

Though I have also had the misfortune of dealing with some elitist pricks and after their Onyxia kill, Poplock was insufferable in world chat for a good while. I feel the elitism came from the nolifing to 60 fast then their pushes in MC. I remember once I said something in world chat, some GS cunt named TK or something began shittalking my guild. So I am glad we got the Rag kill to put people like that in place.

Tk is definitely the most "dramatic member of the guild' and I apologize for all of his antics.

This definitely one of the most 'elitist' phrases I have heard someone say since the server started. You really need to chill, calling people elitist and then following it up statement about how your glad your so much better is not a good idea. I believe we call that being a hypocrite.

Im sorry you had that experience, pop has apologized for how he got on in world a few times. People learn from their mistakes and hopefully people can see that we are working to change the image of the guild.
I was in chocolate milk before goon squad and I thought everyone in the guild was awesome, I'm super stoked they got in and showed mc what they were made of.

However as I said we are looking to build a solid group of players we love to hang around with and kill bosses with while having a few beers we mass recruited like any guild did new on a server. It takes time to sort things out: Don't judge all of us on the actions of others

Cheers

Except that wasn't what my meaning was at all. However when you take it out of context like that it will sound elitist. That whole line of " remember once I said something in world chat, some GS cunt named TK or something began shittalking my guild" does wonders for comprehension. Especially when a lot of his remarks were basically "You don't have MC boss kills." "Remember when Ace was trying to say CM would have one of the first three Ragnaros kills? LOL" I said that more as a "Fuck you" to the people (The problematic ones, I really do not want to use the word "Toxic" because it is non-applicable here) who did nothing but preach about how "We're so much better than you because you haven't done a boss in MC yet." I didn't mean that to come off as "Lol we're better than you haha." because I do not believe that.

It's more of a feeling of deep satisfaction of achieving something that people constantly said you wouldn't get. Or when competition does nothing but trash talk you and then you show them up.

Molten Core doesn't prove shit and all it proves is which guild was able to no-life it to 60 and begin raiding early. That is an opinion I maintained towards GRIZZLY on Scriptcraft, Synced on Kronos, and even to this day on this server. The only raid progression and "firsts" worth giving a shit about are BWL when people are on a semi-equal playing field. Because THAT is when your leadership and member skill is going to show more for kills as opposed to "I played 23 hours a day for a week and hit 60." THAT is what I'm looking forward to. The day when we can raid first day of "new" content and really give competition as a guild against other guilds.

If I wanted to be elitist, I would not beat around the bush with it and I would outright call your guild trash, but that's the thing. Your guild isn't trash to me, you have some members with trashy attitudes but that is not the fault of the guild, just individual players. CM has a few, I am one of them and I admit it and Ace has gotten to me on toning down my hostility in World Chat as far as flame wars or even trolling. I'm told Poplock has been doing the very same to reform the image of Goon Squad and I wish him the best of luck in that. In fact I believe Poplock's flasks probably made it possible to down Ragnaros in the first place. Unsure of how impactful they were but the very fact he was willing to help his competition speaks volumes about his character and how it does look and feel like a legitimate "I want my guild in a better light." instead of refusing any help for us. I definitely respect the guy a lot more in the past two-three days than I did last week.

It's really annoying for a guild to have to deal with this type of players. The guild can be ashamed if the leader is exactly like that and feels it's okay to misbehave, but next time you should really try to contact the GL first. They are often nicer than you think and they do not tolerate behaviour that will ruin their guild. Naturally, I would say.

It really is hard for a GL to have a fully properly behaving guild, especially when the guild is big, and often do they feel ashamed on the behalf of the people misbehaving.

So again, please, try to contact a GL or officer first and try to work it out in private. It's devastating to see the guild go down by the actions of a few.

I'm not part of the guild, but I've seen this so many times in retail wow, hence why I'm cautious with judging a whole guild on the actions of some members.
There are no two sides, there's only the group.
