Why does it say a pet did the most damage and took the most?

This reminds me, anyone remember when people would say things like "your dps sucked, it was all your pet". That used to be a common phrase in vanilla.

i am sorry , i don't get it. how a hunt toped the meters? hunters are not supposed to be so good dps'ers compared to mages/rog/ etc. was the hunt bm and he toped coz of the pet's dps + people still do not have good gear to outdps a standard bm dps pet?

I'm guessing this was the case. Or the hunter is a real try hard/good player which means you can top meters if you put enough effort into it. Sometimes it's also a bit of rng in not getting blown up.
