I don't really care either way. I just figured I should mention it for the sake of this community treating both cases equally and for the accuracy of the HoF.

To expound upon the issue of the new system however:
Under the new system, if guilds start raiding with different people/guilds, the list can/will get cluttered. Say Guild A brings along a few friendly players from the guilds Z, Y and X on separate occasions (to be nice to them, to fill the raid, to get paid in gold by them, or whatever the reason may be). Now these players from the guilds Z, Y and X might want to be added to the list as:
JR(<A> + <Z>) 10/10
JR(<A> + <Y>) 10/10
JR(<A> + <X>) 10/10

And you could easily create a high number of possible constellations with slight variations here, which would clutter the list.

A possible solution: List JRs in the HoF, but not in the guild list.

@Quark The Hall of Fame is actually accurate. There is a discrepancy on Raidstats. The data for the Raid with the ID 2026 is actually wrong as Raidstats got recorded incorrectly. On that day <Goon Squad> killed bosses Lucifron, Magmadar, Gehennas, Garr, Baron Geddon, Shazzrah, Sulfuron and Golemag as opposed to just Golemag. The raid on that day also consisted of only <Goon Squad> members. The only bosses that had been killed by any other guild up to that point were Lucifron and Garr by <Lotus Storm>. Both of those bosses were killed before <Goon Squad> got to them and that is accurately reflected as you see it on the Hall of Fame.

Ahh, okay. Good stuff. There's still the potential issue with listing JRs in the guild list, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when/if we come to it. I'm tired of nitpicking ;)

Well the hope is that as time goes on more and more guilds will stick to their own progression. We ought to encourage people that rather than doing joint raids, perhaps you ought merge guilds instead.

Isn't entirely possible for some cases. Need to keep in mind some guilds are from a different region. It does make sense for guilds to progress as guilds but ultimately I think the only things we should be really caring about are a raid team downed the fight with similar representation of both guilds and the only time it should come under question is if that core is not static.

Odds are next week we'll do MC with VG because the members we have make a really solid core. Though my question is this, in the event CM/VG were to merge, would their progress have to be re-attained or would the result of that merger just gain the credit because it's basically the same thing?
Anything posted on this account is said on behalf of myself and myself alone. None of my posts are influenced by guild affiliation and any issues you have with me should be taken up with me. Anything positive or negative is said by me, not my guild.

In my mind, neither Chocolate Milk or Video Games have started guild progression. They are both still 0/10. Their joint raid, mind you, is 10/10. But the guilds themselves have not established any raid progression themselves. So in my mind, yes, you would have to re-clear MC as a guild only raid to re-attain 10/10 MC.

Keep in mind, we're talking about MC here. We all know that MC is just a farm fest for the most part. It just takes time to fill a 40 man raid and some good coordination and you can clear it. This content isn't that hard. Two months down the road we're likely to have 10-15 guilds clearing MC.

Once again, just my opinion.

You raiding types really like to suck each other off, don't you?

There are lots of creative ways to construct a hall of fame outside the narrow preview of raiding.

You said it yourself, there are a lot of creative ways. If you would like to see improvements or changes, feel free to offer suggestions and constructive criticism rather than childish comments such as "suck each other off."

No can do, childish comments are the meat-and-potatoes of the interwebz.

There are various ways to gain notoriety in 5 man groups, pvp, and solo. Deeds spread by word of mouth.

Here are some terrible suggestions that can be easily dismissed or argued against:
-Most gold
-Most played
-Most helpful
-Most notorious to opposing faction
-Most honor
-Most kills/killed
-Noteworthy item collections
-Most hated by their own faction (e.g. ninja, world chat troll)
-Any other unusual accomplishments that may be proven or accepted by consensus

What you're suggesting is a Player Hall of Fame thread for various accomplishments. The Hall of Fame in this thread was directed toward raiding specifically because the Progression Thread was being cluttered with comments that were not relevant to the purpose of the thread. This specific thread was directed towards the Raiding Hall of Fame.

However, I think this is a fun idea. It would require a lot of input from the players on the server as well as require a lot of continuous updating. People come and go, who was the most hated one month may change to the next month, etc. If you would like to create a Player Hall of Fame, I'd support it and give input the best I could so long as it does not turn into anything that starts drama.
