That being said, I recently(as in yesterday) finally acquired a weapon worthy of getting an agility enchantment on it. I disenchanted quite a few greens on my lower level warrior, and poured an extra 10g into it from AH mats just to get it....

And today it's gone. I had no idea that this enchantment wasn't supposed to be in the game, and now I want to be reimbursed for this stupidity. That's roughly, what 25-30g worth of mats that just got trashed overnight, I literally had the enchantment for less than 12 hours.

Yes, before anyone mentions it. I did see people in trade saying to 'get your agility enchant before it's gone' but I assumed that meant that the enchantment itself would no longer be available to enchanters, and any weapons enchanted would keep said enchant. Sometimes things like that do get removed for 'balance' reasons.

can always save those mats for when the enchant comes back out.. besides.. I'm sure you'll have a better weapon to put it on when the enchant does come out, and not some crap green/blue item. you also saved yourself gold in the process as well since the price on getting the mats for the enchant will go up once it comes back out. 8-)

You misunderstand. I had the enchantment done. 12 hours later it was removed from the weapon, no warning whatsoever.

So now I have no enchantment, and no mats.

kaba wrote:I'm a bit surprised they waited so long to remove it. Would be better if they did it at the same time as they removed the recipe which would result in only a handful of players being affected instead of hundreds like now.

Yeah, it kind of doesn't make sense waiting so long. Could've minimized the damage, but now as you said, a huge number of players just got boned by it. Many of them (like myself) completely unaware of the specifics behind the enchantment in the first place.

there is no way you could not know that the +15 agi is from furbolg reputation and was not supposed to be in game yet. every single enchanter that did have it (only tjockis on horde i believe) advertised in trade with special macros telling people they had it. and every guild knew about it. there was literally only a very small handful of people with that recipe and they were charging extra gold for it. to claim ignorance is futile that isnt an excuse, do your own research. you could literally find this information in trade chat.

oh.... that sucks... well I'm sure the PVP realm will feel the same when the savage guard enchant gets removed from the database as it wasn't out until 1.10.
but yeah, shame that the players get the shaft when Nostalrius makes the mistakes.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but seeing as I started playing WoW towards the end of Vanilla, I absolutely have no idea what items are supposed to be in what patch. Sure, there was some 'hints' about it thrown around in trade chat, but nothing that even remotely warned me that the enchant, and the ability to do the enchant would be removed. Sorry.

Sir_tokealot wrote:every single enchanter that did have it (only tjockis on horde i believe) advertised in trade with special macros telling people they had it.

I'm Alliance side on PvE, there was quite a few people that could do the enchant. They did indeed have special macros, and again, nothing they stated in their messages made it clear what exactly was going to happen. They said things like 'Get it while you still can' implying it was limited and once the enchant was removed, the enchants would remain. I assumed it was a balance change done by Blizzard. Game companies often remove items or abilities such as this from loot or crafting tables but leave them behind to those lucky enough to get them. It's not really that far fetched considering quite a good number of online games I've played have done this at some point.

Sir_tokealot wrote:and every guild knew about it.

Oh, So now with the blanket assumptions. What are you basing this on? The ONE guild on the Horde side? Yeah, we have quite a few more on the Alliance side, not all of them filled with 60's that know all the in's and outs of the game.

Sir_tokealot wrote:there was literally only a very small handful of people with that recipe and they were charging extra gold for it.

and?

Sir_tokealot wrote:to claim ignorance is futile that isnt an excuse, do your own research.

I'm sorry.. but.. What? I know Nost has had some issues with things being in the game that shouldn't, but one as blatant and obvious as the Agility enchant should've been removed as soon as they saw it in trade chat, rather than them waiting till half the server had gotten it, then removing it.

I should not have to spend my time figuring out what fucking enchant, and what fucking item belonged in what patch. I'm here to play the game, not do Nosts job for them. It was a poor decision of theirs to wait so long to remove it, and even poorer for them to offer zero reimbursement to those that got it. How much gold do you think was taken out of the economy because of this move? Enough to warrant a complaint.

What information is this? Maybe you're basing this off personal experience on the Horde side, but Alliance was different, very little information was given. Sad to say, I also have a life and can't spend every waking minute standing around in town just so I can scan trade chat for tidbits such as this that could just as easily been put in the LOGIN information that you see every damn time you get into the game.

It's noone but your own fault, either you had the knowledge about the enchant formulas not being in the game and could assume they would be removed eventaully or you could ask other people or do your own research.

There's noone to blame but yourself, was well deserved, hope it happens again.

Like your permaban, enjoy it

to topic:
must be a very tough SQL statement to add the mats to the mailboxes of the owners of the enchanted wepps :?

Mr Prosser: But, Mr Dent, the plans have been available in the local planning office for the last nine months.
Arthur: Oh yes, well as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn’t exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them had you? I mean like actually telling anybody or anything.
Mr Prosser: But the plans were on display…
Arthur: On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.
Mr Prosser: That’s the display department.
Arthur: With a torch.
Mr Prosser: The lights had probably gone out.
Arthur: So had the stairs.
Mr Prosser: But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?
Arthur: Yes yes I did. It was on display at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying beware of the leopard.

I am upset that I lost two +15 agility enchants to this change, even though I had no idea I was getting an enchant that wasn't suppose to be in-game, but what makes me post on the forums is the fact that not ALL enchants were removed. Winchestor <Hope> still has both of his, as well as Notchakoag. Why were only some of our enchants removed with this fix, but not all of them?

Nah, every time you get an enchant/get something crafted/loot a boss etc you need to waste your limited weekly gaming time to research whether this shit is supposed to be in the game . It is not the Nostalrius staff's responsibility to create a pleasurable gaming experience for you where you can play the game an not have to worry about being penalised for someone else's incompetence. Plus this exact same thing happened in retail so it's blizzlike.
