It was very much a part of original wow to the point of being used effectively as a strategy on many raid bosses throughout several expansions. All we wanted to do was reset him, its not my fault you morons assisted the kite by continually hitting him.
I wasn't there, but had I been there, I probably would have chased the raid mob like a "moron". I don't think in the history of playing mmorpgs, I ever ran away from something I tagged. Especially if it's contested content. Not sure if it's prudent to classify trying to kill your tagged raid mob as moronic behavior.

Summoning a battle chicken to daze the hunter kiting (who isnt flagged mind you)... pretty sure thats also "unfair". So if you guys wanna complain about whats fair and what isnt, I suggest you take a good long hard look at your own tactics.
I tanked him during the kill last week. I was force flagged while tanking and was killed by a mob of horde on me. No salt, and I had a crazy good time. While these 2 wrongs do not make a right, they also prove that it's hard for anyone regardless of faction to stand on moral high ground. Far too much uncertainty and it's unlikely we'll ever see chat logs showing intent either way.
Your horde buddy here put it well:

We all wanted the thing to reset and run back.
The Alliance feels the same way. But instead they just wanted to kill the thing and loot it.
Those who still feel emotional over this, do something to relax yourself... Pour some milk on your head. Take a cold shower. Go outside. Go rub one out. I have no idea what calms down emotional folks, but go do it.
