Let's try to make this server less toxic

Everyone knows the PvP server has become a real shitfest. Let's try to make this one a little more tolerable instead of feeling like a junior high schoolyard.

I'm probably not the best one to talk about cleaning toxicity but gotta start somewhere.

Just by virtue of not being a PvP server, it should be a little less toxic. People who rage in dungeons are gonna rage regardless, though, and they're not really the kind of people who care what other people think.

Maybe, my sample pool isn't that large but on the two PVP servers I've played on, in vanilla and during WOTLK/early Cata (both from alliance POV), people always seemed edgy or downright hostile, compared to the normal servers I played on. Probably didn't help that on the latter server alliance was outnumbered by 1:4 or so.

I just hope people will save the passive-aggressiveness for the enemy faction. Buffing passersby, helping out nearby people in trouble and not blatantly stealing mobs/nodes goes a long way

Fully agree! Unfortunately, I don't think there's much to be done about folks who disagree. I know many gankers/stealers/antisocials IRL and let's just say - nothing will ever change (most of) those folks. :(

On a side note...I have a sneaky feeling Nost doesn't know just how big this is going to be. ;)

Since there's no reason for ganking squeakers to come in here, this forum will be much less toxic, I have no doubt about that.

I have the same feeling, I sense a lot of people turned away due to the PvP server.

They probably didn't know how big the PvP server would be and they still handled that marvellously, all things considered. That amount of players is completely unprecedented and the server remained playable 95% of the time even in the beginning. There was some lag and some crashes but it was playable, and Nostalrius has never seriously faltered despite completely overwhelming popularity. I think they'll manage the new server just fine, as long as one allows for some overload in the beginning.
