Wanting to tank, worried about the numerous warriors...

I want to roll a tank, warrior obviously, and I'm concerned about the amount of warriors that people have rolled. Should I be worried about finding no tanking spots? I only want to focus one toon and would really like it to be a warrior. Are my concerns justified or am I being a worry wart?

You are a worry wart. Play what you like. If you focus on one class, you will exceed in that class and be better than the other 99 warriors you are worried about. ;)

Odds are, most of those Warriors won't Tank. Or make it to 60 at that.

Warriors are one of the slowest leveling classes. By the time you get to 60 there will be an Incredible shortage of warriors. I wouldn't worry about it just focus on leveling

Don't worry about it. As long as you play a role that is heal/tank, there will always be a desire for you. Unless you like to heal or tank (I prefer healing, I've been doing it since BC) people will quit it because it gets boring to them. It also isn't the most exciting when you have to farm/raid.

Many people may say they want to go warriors, but by end-game, they are sought for as priority tanks.

Also...new servers tend to get people to reroll, but to commit on having to level another character gets tedious, and they quit relatively fast (not to be pessimistic about it)

Thank you for all the kind replies. I'm glad to know I can do what I love without worry of falling into obscurity.

This motivates me to brave the warrior leveling process and strive to be one of the best!

See you all in game!

There's hundreds of warriors in the PvP server but very little tanks. It'll be the same here, I'd wager.

This and what everyone else said.

If this plays out anything like actual Vanilla did-and I'm guessing it will-tanks will be needed. Remember in this time period Warriors are the only true, viable tank. our old guild had one Druid who would come out for certain rare fights, and I faintly remember two fights-in all of the raids-which one could utilize a Paladin OT-mind you, that's OT, not MT-and hell even Enhance could OT some trash.

But at the end, despite Warriors being the most numerous, a decent handful of these will likely either A. Be newer players who get enough of the slow leveling and roll mage, hunter, or rogue instead(this happened back then too), B. Folks who plan on spending time in BGs instead, C. People who just don't really plan on doing group content and want to chill around, or D. People who don't realize that they're going to be tanking most of the time in endgame.

So indeed-play what you like. You'll be wanted. You'll get an idea when you start seeing the 'LFM X dungeon, need tank/healer' rolling by in chat.

The majority will not reach 60. If you are sure that you will, go ahead.
