The gold sellers have started to be more aggressive on PVE server.. they are everywhere. Trade, cities, starting zones, spamming the channels. While you can leave those chat channels, I do hope that the Nos caretakers will step up the game and clean them or at least slow them down.

Best way to contribute to defeating the gold sellers/pwr-lvlers is to open a ticket and report them.
Report stuck--> still stuck--> report to GMs in description textbox.
But not sure how helpful that'll be seeing how easy it is to make an account on nostralrius.
Best of luck in your battle GMs

You can also /ignore and then shift click their name and hit enter. Or if they don't have a spastic long name, just /ignore and type their name.
You have a limited number of ignore slots, but by the time you have filled it, the earlier ones will most likely be inactive or banned.
By the way it's always for the same website when i see it, which is weird.

I have never seen a single ad from a gold seller (Susan, item4game, etc) on the PvE server. I do, however, see people complaining about them all the time. So I'll say here what I say in /trade when I notice someone complaining. Install SpamThrottle addon. The one listed on curse *may* work, but there's a fork version specifically written for 1.12.1.

Is this sarcasm? There's hardly anything in general/trade chat besides gold selling whenever I look.

No its not sarcasm. What he's saying is that the addon he linked actually works very well.

I'll have to give this a try 'cause the spam here is really out of control.

Seems like it works. Now hoping my gold does not suddenly get sent to strangers.

If speaking in general, trade and guild recruitment was raised to level 10 or 15, the gold sellers would have a hard time making accounts where they could spam chat channels.
Rather than an hour levelling to 5 to spam they would have to put in 5-6 hours for 10 and 10-15 hours for level 15.
They would be restricted, as soon a the spam started GM would ban account and another 15 hour needed till they could spam again.
You could ban the word 'gold' in chat and not display the chat message with it in, or when banning gold seller accounts, query for there IP address first and then ban the IP address to block out there computers.

The one on Curse will not work; that is the retail version. I've never put the private vanilla version there.
The Github location is the right place to go.
