I'm sorry, but if it's in the game it should stay.

by TBCisbestest » Tue Dec 15, 2015 1:54 pm

I'm relatively new to all this vanilla stuff, having played only for about 3 months before TBC. So I have no idea what items, or rather.. enchantments are supposed to be in the game during what patches, and which ones aren't.

That being said, I recently(as in yesterday) finally acquired a weapon worthy of getting an agility enchantment on it. I disenchanted quite a few greens on my lower level warrior, and poured an extra 10g into it from AH mats just to get it....

And today it's gone. I had no idea that this enchantment wasn't supposed to be in the game, and now I want to be reimbursed for this stupidity. That's roughly, what 25-30g worth of mats that just got trashed overnight, I literally had the enchantment for less than 12 hours.

Yes, before anyone mentions it. I did see people in trade saying to 'get your agility enchant before it's gone' but I assumed that meant that the enchantment itself would no longer be available to enchanters, and any weapons enchanted would keep said enchant. Sometimes things like that do get removed for 'balance' reasons.

Thats just your own fault then.

The enchant wasn't implemented before BWL and now it fairly got removed, I think there will be no substitute

No, I'm sorry.. but..

HOW IS IT MY FAULT?

The enchant is in the game when it's not supposed to be. Am I to look up every item/enchant in the game to see what patch it was implemented in? Or should Nost get their shit together? Even a official warning would've been nice. I don't see one though, do you? The fact that they allowed so many people to hit 60 and get the enchantment before removing it just shows incompetence. Had this been dealt with even a week ago, very few people would've been affected by it.

There's likely dozens of players that aren't familiar with Vanilla and what content belongs where, and I'm certain many of them got this enchantment and are now wondering why it's gone. It's poorly executed, if you're removing it, return the mats. Otherwise leave it in.

The PvE server is mostly a copied and customized version of the PvP server.

So the PvE server got every bug fix and important changes instantly, because fixing everything again would take to much time.

Since it is a customized version, they tried to keep the content on the patch on which the PvE server currently is, 1.3.

There were since start of the PvE a few things which weren't implemented in the actual patch and they got mostly removed.

You don't have to look up every single Item/enchant if it was in the game yet, but you already said, that you did see people posting stuff like "get it, before it gets removed". These players did in my opinion play with the ignorance of players, which is not the fault of the server himself.

There was also the discussion (at least on horde side) in trade/world that a few people have spoken to gamemasters and the gamemasters confirmed that it will be removed.

Ignorance isn't an excuse to get gold or items back. Its actually your fault that you didn't reconsider if you want to get the enchant now, or if you better ask someone if they know more.

Of course it's not your fault. Not everyone has played on the PvP server, heck I did and I wouldn't know at what point it was added.

Unfortunately OP when Nos makes these mistakes, it's the players who pay for them. You can moan about it, post threads, but it's not going to change anything. They'll protect what they see as the integrity of the server for 10k people even if it means losing a few here and there, which is kinda understandable.

Did you lose the entire weapon or just the enchant btw?

Since the server is Pre 1.5 you will notice a lot of quests, items and mobs you saw on other 1.12.1 private servers will not be available or simply not work here. I was in Feralas and one of the quests I was trying to do didn't have the mob implemented until 1.5, but the quest itself is still available to pick up so I running around looking for it for an hour or so until I surfed over to WoWWiki and looked it up. That site is good to glance over to if you need to know about patch notes and what stuff was available.

It's not your fault. Unforunately, that's the way things go here. Staff will only help so far. In this case, they won't be reimbursing you even though, to reasonable minded folks, that might be what you are entitled too. I don't expect you to be a WoW historian and I'm not going to be one myself. It's not our fault, but we have to deal with it.

Everytime anyone is wronged in any fashion, this mob will crawl from their hidey holes desperate to try to make someone already down, feel a lot worse.

It just kind sucks that I, and many others are going to be out 30-60g(for dual wield) because of this, and no I didn't lose the weapon. That would be even worse.

can always save those mats for when the enchant comes back out.. besides.. I'm sure you'll have a better weapon to put it on when the enchant does come out, and not some crap green/blue item. you also saved yourself gold in the process as well since the price on getting the mats for the enchant will go up once it comes back out. 8-)

I'm a bit surprised they waited so long to remove it. Would be better if they did it at the same time as they removed the recipe which would result in only a handful of players being affected instead of hundreds like now.
