Pacifist Challenge, the 'Nilla way?

by jakeaguthrie123 » Thu Feb 18, 2016 3:55 am

I've done the Ironman challenge on the live servers, but I'd like to try it here. Anyone have any ideas of how to gain exp without killing?

I don't even think thats possible since gathering professions didn't give xp in vanilla.

I have the feeling exploring every single part of the world and doing all non violent quests at their most valuable level would not be enough to reach 60. This should be checked with a DB, however.
Unlike live, the only repeatable way to gain xp is killing.
Well, that's not completely true, there is another : battleground marks can give you some experience. But you are supposed to kill enemy players, you can probably be banned for slacking so we should not take that in account.

I remember a post of one guy who RP'd getting to 60 in vanilla. He never killed anything. To get to 60 he always joined someone and played the healer all the time. So he ran a lot of dungeons and when questing did constant grouped grinding. It sounded slow but it's possible if that would fit your description.

A twist on this in vanilla I saw was someone who played without armor or weapons and would only use unarmed combat, with no spells or buffs. They grouped a lot but did make it all the way to 60.

Do the ironman challange as a warrior and you'll have my respect. Using anything else is just cheesy.

I played on the same server as the now-famous Gutrot who leveled naked from 1-70. AFAIK I still have a level 1 or 2 troll alt in <Naked Noobs> from when I attended his beach party :D

I think Gutrot accepted buffs from other players, but leveled alone. Grouping would have been a little bit too easy.
