Better, as what, decorations? They're usless. I get the hate of the LFG tool, but summoning stones just saved half of the party the time of flying from Bandlands to Tanaris. You didn't lose the interaction, you didn't lose the emersion, all it does is make getting groups together take longer. You still have those people who say "Hold on finishing this quest," but instead of being able to summon them (if you don't have a lock) you're stuck waiting around for the tank or healer to finish their quest THEN fly to meet up.
I know they won't turn them on, but IMO it's fing stupid to not have them in the game. A prime example of people's nostalgia getting in the way of seeing a broken mechanic.
And before you say that summoning stones were really only a thing durring/after BC people should read up on them.
In March 2005, patch 1.3 gave us Blizzard's first attempt at a grouping system: the lowly meeting stones. In their first incarnation, meeting stones could be clicked to place you in a queue for their dungeon. The queue tried to match you up with players of a similar level and to find a tank and a healer.
Blizzard tried to salvage meeting stones in patch 1.5. They gave innkeepers the ability to act as meeting stones for nearby dungeons. They relaxed the system to help groups form more easily. They also tried to make sure the groups that did form had a realistic chance to complete the run. Dungeons back then often had a wide level range of ten levels or more.
