Why is the PVP server more populated?

A PvP server adds more value in the form of danger. You never know when you will be forced in to a battle of Life or Death (or 1min corpserun

I mean I hate being ganked and to gank, but sometimes, on some rare occasions, you get the awesome worldpvp experience!

The pve server came months later so people didn't want to restart.

During the last months a lot of new people came to Nostalrius, people who started being lvl 1, with no alters and no gold. So for them, the election of the server wasn't determined by the "restart". Why didn't they choose PvE then? Because they wanted to do OPvP, one of the main purposes of joining a vanilla server, and that's happen in the PvP one.

I recently joined on the PvE server because It was newer. I didn't want to start on a realm with 12k players all higher level and ganking cause they are bored. I liked the smaller number on the PvE realm. I also joined it because I would still have time to get to 60 and do some end game raids that were relevant but would be almost obsolete on the PvP server. Just my ¢2 as a new Nost player
