Items showing wrong stats HELP

by SirBleezie » Sun Mar 13, 2016 4:00 pm

About a week ago it was brought to my attention that most of the items I was using and seeing were not showing the proper stats. i.e. Deathbringer showing only 46.4 DPS, Might Set not showing it has any defense, Medallion of Steadfast Might showing 8str 10 sta 1% dodge and 12 def, etc, etc.... At first I tried deleteing my WDB folder, nothing changed, then I tried deleting WDB and WTF folder. Again nothing changed. Then I tried deleting WDB, WTF and my addons. Nothing changed again. Yesterday I tried a fresh download and install of the game and its still not showing the proper stats.

What can I or do I need to do to fix this? Its hard to optimize my character when nothing I am seeing has its correct stats on it.

It's a progressive vanilla server meaning that we are on an earlier patch than the websites your are probably browsing are using.

You can still link them in-game though to check their stats, if I was you that's probably what I'd do.

I'm not sure if their is a website out there with the patch we're using.

You need to delete the content of your WDB. You should NOT delete your WTF. If that doesnt work, you are doing something wrong.

EDIT: Are you 110% sure you dont have several wow clients? Maybe retail client? You probably deleted the wrong wdb.

I only have 1 WoW classic folder. Like I said, I deleted my WDB and completely redownloaded and reinstalled the game. It changed nothing. All the stats on my equipment are showing the wrong stats. During raids everyone was pointing out that I was seeing different stats than them.

You need to delete your wdb after you've installed the client, otherwise you will still get 1.12.1 values from the installation.

Storfan is right. The WDB folder stores (among other things) item data, which is downloaded from the server you're playing on. If you already have data for any particular item stored there, the client won't download anything from the server.
This is why you need to delete the folder to see items that have been changed, or if you're using a client with other data than Nostalrius (and even when changing from Nost PvP to PvE, since they're on different patches item-wise).

By deleting the folder you're forcing your client to re-download all item data, ensuring that all of it is current.
