Rendering Distance

Can we keep it low in high-populated areas like towns, but out in the world of Azeroth in less congested areas... Could we please turn it up, just a little bit... I'll be WPvPing and dudes disappear/reappear because of that 15 yard line.

I believe the GMs have stated in the past that they wish to keep the "fade" distances Blizzlike, thus, they will not change them.

I have no problem with the actual fading out once it's realistic in terms of being "blizzlike". They fade in/out within a 5 yard radius sometimes. If the objective is to keep it in line with retail, we need to figure out why some players disappear off the map temporarily and then warp back into place after a server tic or two.

I don't know where you've been but it's a very well known problem on Nost that the render distance of players/mobs/NPCs is heavily reduced on the PvP realm, especially during peak hours. The admins acknowledge this, but they really have no other choice at the moment if they want the server to perform even remotely well. This is one of the main things that the server clustering will hopefully fix.

The view distance is set to dynamic on the PvP realm. Cities are already lower prioritized than other zones. When the server is under heavy load, the view distance is shortened and when the load lightens, the distance is increased.

The distance shit is because of the server's lag, it has nothing to do with blizzlike
