Back when WoW was still being developed, Blizz approached a very young and boisterous guild leader in Everquest about the possibility of joining their company to write quests and design the new world. Why did they do that? He was an outspoken gamer who led a guild into unknown conquests within a PC game.

Furor had a "love him or hate him" reputation on Everquest and FOH forums, wherein he would blast Sony about the gameplay of Everquest and actually threaten to take his guilds away and move elsewhere if changes were not made. His rantings and ravings were pretty well known in the gaming industry, and made Sony executives cringe.

After Blizzard had both he and Tigole on board -- their PR posts on gaming forums far and wide made people drool over WoW before it was even released.The snippets and stories told about the beta launch, the waiting lists to explore Azeroth in Beta were dangled and given to hundreds of guild leaders who had public forums and a large playerbase. Promises were made, designs were discussed, and the world of Azeroth came into being -- bugs and all.

Lo and behold, Blizzard approached a young Furor, and he and Tigole created what we've all come to love -- from the story lines and quests, to the Alterac Valley 30-hour-PLUS epic fights. We all remember when AV was opened, running from South Shore and Tarrern Mill to get into the tunnel and queue so that we could have the PVP battles of our character's lives.

There was a lot of pride in the creation of Vanilla WoW. And there should be from everyone who worked on this game. It was a first of it's kind, it was unique, and no WoW-killer has come close to even being in it's likeness and popularity. Even with administrative and game changes at Blizzard towards the original concept, and while many of us think WoW is trying to kill it's own game -- even they can't lose the fanbase, at least not just yet.

Nostalrius and it's team have become the young Alex and Tigole, re-creating what was their dreams and conceptions were at the beginning. Nostralrius has made their creation come alive again.

If Blizzard were smart, they would do the same thing they did with Furor and Tigole ten years ago -- hire Nostralrius as their "legacy" departments, use all of this wonderful anti-Blizzard, "I can't believe they did this!" promotional writings of outrage and hire the Nostalrius team to do what they do best -- develop Vanilla WoW as it was originally meant to be played; and use the internet to promote / advertise and gather more players to venture into Azeroth of old -- on legacy servers.

Karma, Alex. Now you're the "business dude" and not the gamer.

Tweet Furor and Tigole, ask them to save their creation of Vanilla WoW. Vanilla WoW is really their baby.

There's over 68K signatures on the petition; over 500K views of JonTron's triade. There's more views and comments in almost every major newspaper, gaming website, blogger and vlogger. That's more PR and views than Furor had when he was hired at Blizzard and before he was screaming at Sony.

It's time for legacy servers and for WoW to be played like it was intended. We do know what we want.

I personaly wouldn't like to see the Nost team being forced into corruption. It's a bit innevitable if they get that close to Blizz.
