I have read a ton of people these last few days that go: "Oh, well the game isn't too great, but I have dedicated 10+ years to it, so I can't quit now". Phallacy. The longer you take to make a change, the worse it is.

It's called the Concorde or Sunk Cost Fallacy. Basically, it hinges on the fact that time/money/effort already spent is still valued by us. You even saw it when Nost shut down, a lot of people lamenting the time they had "invested".

Personally, I go by "any time spent having fun is time well spent", so I had a blast on Nost. I'm of course saddened that I don't get to spend more time on it, but I don't regret spending the time.
Same for retail: Sure, I have invested a lot of time there. But every minute playing on it feels like pulling my own teeth, so why would I continue to do that? The time spent is gone anyhow, and any second I spend playing something I don't like is a chance to play something I do like wasted.

I am back. As per promise, this is gonna be a list of all the reasons for Legion being Fanservice: The Expansion I noticed.
(I cringe so much I can't even write some things properly.)


Listening to player wishes - 10 years too late!
- naga expansion (lets just slap them there, who even cares)
- moar demons!!1! (You liked them in TBC so we put them in WoD even though WoD was about something else, but you can never have enough demons, right?)
- EMERALD NIGHTMARE EXPANSION (No matter that idea was originally scrapped in favour of wotlk and resolved in a goddamn book nobody cares about, we're just gonna extend it, making the rest of what happened (in the book) mostly meaningless - and then we do the Ysera thing because killing off aspects because they randomly went crazy is definitely a huge story progression. Totally.)
- DEEMON HUNTARDS! OLOLOLOL!!!1!!!ONE! (Because the Illidari are very nice people everyone wants to have on their team. Forget the fact that out of five guys who tried to be demon hunters on TBC, three died, one went crazy and only one succeeded, training new guys, whose success rates I imagine were probably as stellar as those of his peers.) With revolutionary(R) gamebreaking mechanic of "double tap an arrow key to dash"(TM).
- Well, finally you get Ashbringer. And all the other very significant artifact weapons most of which nobody ever heard about.
- Making the player a leader of their class faction, killing off (needlessly) or casting aside the current leaders. It's all set up to "you're the best and you get an artifact but first do these five quests" as opposed to "if you do this epic storyline, you might end up with an artifact". Also turns out Darion Mograine is a pussy after all and lets you lead the Ebon Blade. Then again, maybe he just saw what Legion is and decided to stop playing.

Returning people you never thought you'd ever meet! In ways that defy all reason.
- Alleria and Turalyon. Ok, that's cool, they're back. But why are they in Suramar? If there was a place to reintroduce them, it would be WoD. Where were they all this time? Seems like somebody at Blizzard went through their checklist of pull-all-stops characters and noticed there are two that haven't been placed yet. Oh well, there's still some free spots in Suramar...
- I heard Magni's walking around or something.
- What totally got me though, and is the proof that Bli$$ard is really grasping at the last straws of the grass they made into a neatly trimmed lawn by previous grasping, is the priest NPCs: Calia Menethil and Alonsus. Fucking. Faol.

Yes, they finally could be assed enough to bring in Arthas' sister. And the best part is Faol. Hey, wouldn't you know! He actually was undead this whole time!1!! Why didn't you hear about him before you ask? It was because he was operating from the shadows! DURRRRR!!!!ONE!!
