I think most of you overestimate the bad ways in which Blizzard would act. It's a freaking large company, so you can not expect a decent answer on the legacy topic in such short time. It's a huge change for them, they have to discuss if they would be willing to do it, figure out ways to make this work with licensing, etc.
And then there is more, if they run legacy servers themselves, it has to be financially working out too.
This is nothing which could be decided within a few days, we're talking weeks here.
And I doubt all the announcements are related, they are just on their regular schedule, not early.
And finally, Blizzard is not the small company it was before WoW got released. Becoming this large means you start introducing defined processes how to handle everything that comes up.
It is unfair to just call them names. Make yourself heard loud, and you will get to read something on the matter an hand, given a bit more time.
