I'm starting to wonder if anybody still working at Blizzard has any idea about how Azeroth actually IS...since retail ain't it.

Interesting question.

According to Mark Kern, WoW: Vanilla Team Leader, every single person who was on the team that made WoW:Vanilla has left either Blizzard or the WoW Team.

Sole exceptions he mentioned are Samwise Didier and Chris Metzen ofc. There's also Tom Chilton, Mike Morhaine and Alex Afrasiabi.

I believe everyone else from the original WoW: Vanilla team is either dead or gone.

The change.orc petition, signed by all 89 members of the Defias Brotherhood who currently reside in the Deadmines, stated that since they would soon be without a home, Stormwind should turn Westfall back into how it used to be because they "liked it better that way."

"I was leader of the Stonemasons Guild back in the original Stormwind," said former Defias kingpin Edwin VanCleef. "After giving it a lot of thought, I feel Stormwind could have found a way to support us, rather than resorting to scary legal tactics. Almost 900,000 people want to see this. King Wrynn, these people are not your enemy, they are some of Stormwind's greatest supporters!"

KEK! :D

it won't get deleted edit: guess i was wrong it got deleted

they're comparing the nost playerbase to the defias brotherhood, original westfall to nost, and stormwind is supposed to be activision/blizzard entertainment

they probably aren't gonna sign that petition unless it gets at least a million signatures, which it probably won't

not only would releasing legacy servers make actiblizz look bad, it would make them look bad to their stockholders too because opening legacy servers means that they admit that they made a bad product; almost everyone who would've left the game because of it being bad had already unsubbed from WoW, and whoevers left are casuals who might only play once a week or less, people whose tastes are so bad that they just don't know any better, roleplayers, and diehard WoW fans who won't quit until the last retail server is shut down, and chinese gold farmers
actiblizz would also probably try to include LFR, welfare epics, dual-spec, a cash shop, microtransactions, and maybe even something worse, like garrisons, and its all so they could appeal to casuals and make more money off of it
it'd probably be easier to just have them license vanilla to others, like whats mentioned in this thread https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=43428 , and they probably won't do that either
