Who wants to lose years of effort even if it was fun?

The thing is you lose years of effort anyway... What have you gotten out of your Nost play, or your Kronos play or your retail play? Nothing, an achievement...

This way it will keep the experience fresh all the time, giving achievements is something to acknowledge the Seasonal system and the accomplishments of a player in a giving season...

Just as Diablo is doing.

Thus I will continue on saying that the best way I believe there is to progress on a realm and then reset...
You have Legion realms to keep your progress and have a continuity... But for those that want to be competitive or even have the vanilla experience have seasons. This is and will be the best way to actually address Vanilla...

People when they think of Blizz offering Vanilla they forget they actually have other expansions to run as well...

I don't think there's any point in "resetting" the game timeline and starting over again with a hard cap @ WotLK or whichever expansion people want.

If I understand Mark's question correctly in the poll, he is talking about a Vanilla (1.12.1) server that will be expanded with land and lore remaining Vanilla all the time, i.e. no new races and level increases that the new expansions introduced.
