Melak is onto it. If you don't want vanilla then don't ask for it.
It's hard enough trying to get through to Blizzard with legacy servers as it is, and even if it gets through "one small tweak" leads to more tweaks, then bigger tweaks, until we end right back where we started - with the bullshit that is WoD. Stop separating the legacy movement into different groups (i.e expansions), stop being entitled, and stop asking for extra "convenience" tweaks. If you want convenience you have retail.
People like Sodapoppin and Kungen have been trying to influence this by trying to introduce the idea of: Cataclysm flight paths, dual talents, Flying mounts, and all the crap we wanted to play a game without. Good thing people are smarter than to think they're representatives of the legacy movement, and know they're just streamers here to be the communities messenger.
I see what you guys are saying. But honestly not all the changes blizzard made were bad. In the end we want a good game with vanilla sa a foundation and how vanilla works was great. But lets pretend a expansion was never released for wow, the game would be dead. Optional settings like retail has it now to show new graphics/animations wouldn't hurt anyone. In the end we want content to be added just that they keep on the same track as vanilla and not the other path which was shit.
Keep the game hard etc, that is what keeps your core audience.
Vanilla means no new content, what part of vanilla dont you understand :S ? If they do go for progressive, you can move on to other expansions along the way, what you are suggesting will make it end up like WOD, lots of shit that most people never asked for.
