Love people who never raided in Vanilla, commenting on Vanilla raiding.

Love people who don't really know anything about somebody, commenting about somebody. I guess a GM just gave him all that AQ and BWL gear in Incredible Warr Tricks 1. & I would love to see most ppl try to recall shit from 12 yrs ago accurately. Also lol @ the essays commenting about the entry level epics when I'm sure he just miss-spoke (video looked p on the spot) and meant blues.

On topic tho I'm surprised Mr Sellout himself actually spoke publicly the way he did about this. If even he is coming out saying he's up for it then it's looking pretty good imo.

Someone please summarize who Swifty is then. Not everyone has a clue who this guy is. Quick google search seems to show he is a streamer therefore I know little. I play games ... not watch others play.

These 2 basically bring up all the points now widely known and discussed. That alone is further proof of the validity of these topics which is always good to perpetuate for the cause (enforced further by not actually being involved in vanilla private server gaming for reasons they discussed).

Not to mention the "abuse" of Dreamweave armor for casters... very few ppl knew this trick back then, pretty sure :>

Dreamweave armor adds 1-35 damage to damaging spells. Rather than check that value each time a spell is cast they decided to save themselves some floating point calcs and only check it ONCE... that time being when the armor is first put on. So you put on a Dreamweave Vest and a roll is made and that value is added to your global damage modifier.

When you take the vest off it makes another roll and subtracts that value from your global spell damage modifier. Note that it doesn't take off the SAME random value it added when you put it on, but instead takes off a different random value from 1-35. So say you put the vest on and it rolls a 10 and so all yer spells are at +10 damage. If you take it off then it rolls a 27.

Now you are at -17 damage to all spells you cast... Not a good thing! However if you get lucky then your put-on roll is higher than your take-off roll and you end up with a NET gain of +damage. This is endlessly repeatable so via a random walk process you can end up with a HUGE +damage modifier and then put on your Arcanist or whatever real armor to go PvP'ing in. Of course you are equally likely to end up with a HUGE -damage modifier so you have to take care to keep track of what your modifier is at any time and dress/undress accordingly. With this you can do some massive damage.

I have no idea who these guys are but they seem to be on board with it and understand where we are coming from even if they didn't play on Nost (for good reasons.)

And sure the dude who said entry level epics kinda messed that up and preraid best blues would have been more correct he obviously has the heart in the right place.

TiL

- you must farm for 0.02% drops to get your "entry epic gear" before you can raid.

- when people guess at things and are wrong, they "misspoke" and meant the correct thing

- our brains are not capable of remembering things past 11 years

- many people do not know how to pre-raid BiS

Edit: you can't count MC patterns for crafted items as "entry epic gear" as people still had to kill the raid bosses for these. So clearly it isn't required to enter the raid scene.

I was accurately recalling stuff everyday I played on Nost, at least until I got to 60. The 1-58 content didn't change in the following years until Cata, so I had leveled through it countless times after Classic, not just in Classic. You end up memorizing this repeated content for a long time, possibly your entire life to some degree. Since I only played Cata for a year, effortlessly speeding past most content, then quit retail permanently, my longer memories of Azeroth didn't suffer much from the revamp. Before Nost released I actually remembered Azeroth in its Classic form better than Cata's version, despite playing that more recently. More time was spent playing it, and since you actually had to read quests or remember locations; they stuck with you. Quest shading and autopiloting doesn't stick with anyone. You don't have to pay attention to nor remember shit when there's always a yellow brick road to follow. The game was also fun back then. Leveling from Cata onward is just a boring chore. You're an empty dead world that's of no threat to you once so ever, so you just want to power to end game as fast as possible, which is exactly what Blizzard stupidly wants you to do as well.

Nothing is mandatory until you get to T2 content & beyond. Even then a little skill will more than make up for lack of purplez. Often, the net best thing is not too difficult to obtain & much cheaper, but less recognizable to most plebs.

Krol Blade, Destiny, Hide of the Wild, Lionheart Helm, Hand of Edward the Odd, Cloudkeeper Legplates, Myrmidon's signet, and many other WL (and some Dungeons loots like Ironfoe) Don Julio's Band, The Unstoppable Force (AV exalted) and so many others, (some i isted here are BIS pre Raid...) so yes Entry Epic Gear

This... "Entry" gear you speak of was implamented by the players back in 2006 (in the end of Vanilla), pretty much like "Gear Score".

Still remember seeing ppl with greens in Onyxia raids. And these items you mentioned were impossible to afford for most of the ppl, like 80% of the players base. 400-500g back then was a big deal, quite big tbh. And with the upcoming TBC expansion and the "flying mounts", prices for these items were utterly overpriced because ppl knew and wanted to make some gold of it and buy asap flying mounts. So yeah, you raid with what you have + some resistance for the fight/pots/flask - that's it.

Hey! I wore greens through MC and Ony! Felcloth ftw.
