If the server is still up and if most team is playing their cards right this 50+ days of down time should have given them the chance to go through every possible glitch or problem they did have on the server to polish it into something that won't be picked part by blizz.

If it were up we'd be able to see the server list when we connected. Quit spreading dumbass rumors. I don't see how blizzard would be interested in their code which is under the GPL. Especially since it was confirmed they still have their source code. If anything, blizz would want to see how they got 15k players on one server.

The same way you do it with regular MaNGOS for vanilla these days. It works with proper configuration, decent hardware and fixing a few bugs which cause crashes but are easy to resolve. Some of these are code related others are related to issues in the database where the core lacked error checking. No magic involved, just being able to debug the core, and it also helps e.g. to be able to record client traffic and replay it on development systems to watch bugs in action. Also, tools are free and available for that too.

What most people do not understand is that most servers run on MaNGOS versions from 2010, same as Nostalrius did. Kronos also does. Easy to see btw as there are characteristic issues to these versions not existent in current MaNGOS. Most of the good stuff was built starting 2013 and the MaNGOS now is so much different and more capable.

Every private server runs on MaNGOS, I suppose. Only Nostalrius made it work with 12k people. That makes it pretty clear that MaNGOS is not some kind of common denominator for insanely well-performing servers. I applaud your technical skill and knowledge, that would allow you to replicate what Nostalrius did, but clearly it's not something all private server developers have in common.

Oh and yeah.. I don't mean to bash MaNGOS or anything, ofcourse, without it Nostalrius would probably never have existed. The team behind MaNGOS deserves more credit than it is given, I suppose. Not that I have any clue what is MaNGOS and what is not.
