If you take playerbase away from the old server, to put on a new server, you have only appeased those who wanted a new server for themselves, not those who wanted one healthy server with a steady influx of new players.

its impossible to relaunch without a new server. the 12k+ pop made me quit pvp realm.

Yeah, people who are afraid that the old pvp server will be empty are probably just being paranoid. It will likely still have a lot more players than what most vanilla realms had back in retail (from what I've heard, didn't play retail vanilla)

Especially with all the publicity that nost continues to get, lots of new people are joining in and some of them will go to the old pvp server

The main thing I worry about is faction balance on a new server. The PVP server had so many more Horde than Alliance it made it really unfun to level..

This will always happen because of superior pvp racials.

This, although leveling as an ally was great. untill those 60 T1's came to wreck us. I simply never left IF / SW without healing swiftness etc potions, grab a healing buddie as well. STV was a god damn nightmare for most sure, But i remember cutting a warpath through horde while leveling, Warrior and priest combo is god damn fun 36-60 At one point, we geniue felt bad for horde and spared every tauren chick and any horde willing to /wave emote hug etc back, it was hard to resist a bald orc rogue crying infront of you as you just killed his buddie but eh, balance yea?

I'll inject few facts into this discussion that you can think about and which will hopefully make the next thread with this topic a slightly better one.

Number of active accounts in the last 10 days of Nostalrius: 130 000
Peak of concurrent players on the PvP realm: 15 000
Lowest amount of concurrent players on the PvP realm: 6 000

Many people seem to think that the actual population was that fifteen thousand players. That is not true. The real actual population is much larger, though smaller than 130 000 as some players had more than one account in active use. As some players logged off, others logged in. To have constant population fluctuating between 6k and 15k players requires a total player population far larger than that.

This is why a strawpoll that has four thousand voters does not give a clear, full picture of the situation.
