Even as the leader of the main world-pvp guild of the horde (as far as i've seen) i never manage to get more than 50% of the guild into some sort of invasion or campaign, and sometimes there's like literally almost noone coming (but it sorta justified, it may happen if i randomly pop up calling people while they're already in the middle of something). Or grab arms and assist in a world pvp situation where we are outnumbered even with summons available. Now I understand if you're in the middle of a PvE run or something, but yeah..
Ofcourse, everyone has the right to care about themselves, duh..

Aight, what i said above is..well..i cant complain for that, everyone is different, and i've seen that ussualy most of our guild members has a guild rank (which is earned by event participations) and thats really satisfying, i cant really complain, i love these guys. But almost all the guilds i've seen out there are either social whatever guilds or hardcore raiding guilds and maybe bg-honor-grind guilds called PvP guilds..
I wonder, wouldnt you like to be part of a guild that has a specific cause and wants to, you know, do things that change the overworld (non-instanced places), like, be a part of it. For example, you, as a guild, take over a zone, and inhabit it, and kill any other opposed faction members that enter it, make it your home. And if some other opposed faction guild has the same interests, a rivalry is created which can lead to wars, entertaining stuff.
The pvp realm can be often seem to have 10000 people on. Imagine if everyone was part of a guild that had a cause, a target, or simply inhabited a zone or ran expeditions on enemy faction territories or simply helped levelers go through things, you know, instead of everyone being a solo hero mercenary adventurer mode. There would be infinite different things to take part in.
Imagine lets say, a group of horde players make a guild and decide to inhabit redridge, having players of lvl 15-25 not leveling up, or just if they are to lvl up anyway they would go to the surrounding zones and sit around and socialize, and launch assaults on various alliance outposts and take control of quest zones. And there comes a guild focused on defending that zone from threats and helping people do quests, with small to large scale world-pvp battles happening daily.
Each guild could have about uh, 20 people online, of random levels, yes, so 40 people in total? About 0.4% of the online population? Let's say not everyone is like this, but only 4% of the server, so 10 similiar scenarios like this would occur in azeroth, still, pretty satisfying.
If not everyone, many people would like that im definetily sure, but we feel forced to do raids or grind honor in bgs and basically do grinding stuff so we can stay "updated" with other players, therefore mostly occupied with gear earning and these things may never get to happen. Perhaps i have to wait till naxxramas comes and people wont have to keep updating and start doing funny stuff?
Personally i wouldnt mind going around with 10 green-geared guys, not at all, but everyone gets the need to stay updated, im just fantasizing how this game could be much more fun...and hope that soon people stop afking in capital cities, stop participating -mainly- in instanced stuff and become "part of azeroth", you know what i mean.
