Need a gold guide

by Celonius » Thu Feb 11, 2016 12:32 pm

Hi. I'm level 24 and I only have 7,5g. As I reach more levels, I need more gold in order to get skills and equipment.
So, the point of the thread is: Can you give me some guide for getting gold? I prefer farming instead of profession or AH. Some guide where I can find some spot where kill mobs who loot items that I can sell would be wonderful.

Thanks!

The best way to get your 40 mount at level 40 is to kill as many mobs as possible as well as being active in atleast 1 gathering profession. When you hit the level requirement for desolace, try grinding out a couple levels on the basilisks, scorpions, and vultures. These guys drop greys that sell for a decent penny. There's plenty of mobs you can grind out and make money off of, you just need to try.

Fishing. With like 120-150 fishing, you can hit up areas that have Oily Blackmouth. Stacks sell for a couple gold. Fish for a bit before or after farming and you'll the gold you need for a mount by the time you're 40.

Herbalism can make gold when you start hitting Briarthorn-Kingsblood. Fadeleaf and Wild Steelbloom sell for a lot.

Hopefully those quick tips help you out. They are what allowed me to buy my mount right at 40, without having to derail my questing/leveling too much.

Pufffff

At moment my prof are:

Mining 100
Engineering 100
First Aid 120

So if now, I have to start a new profession, I will be sooooooooooo meh.

That's why I'm asking a guide where get gold farming mobs.

Gold scales up on a per level basis. Low level mobs aren't going to get you much. Grinding mobs that drop wool and silk is always good, but gathering professions are the way to go. Stop leveling engineering and sell what you get from mining.

You said gathering prof. mining is one of them. Can't I make gold with mining? Or you suggest 2 gathering prof, which one?

Anyway, I started lvl eng because I want to do PvP, and that's my objective. Gold is just a way to get gear and mount in the future. So no, I'm not going to stop lvl Eng, not after lvled 100 points each. I mean, thanks for your advise, but I know a lot of people who says that there are more ways to get gold apart from profession, also, most of them say that the best way is farming mobs or AH. That's why I asked for a guide for farming.

Even If I have to do it by prof, I'll do using sec prof fishin like this user told me:

With that, I do not need to erase all the time wasted in lvling eng/mining.

But again, the ideal for me will be a guide for farming. I think is the best way: I like farm and I get xp.

You're kind of all over the place.
- You want to make money with mining, but you won't pause your leveling of engineering. Leveling up engineering costs you potential gold by using materials instead of selling them. You can stop engineering until you have the money you need then continue where you left off.
- You said you didn't want to stop and level fishing, but then changed your mind I guess?
- There is no reliable way to grind good money off of low level mobs. You can try for rare drops off of something like the whelps in eastern Wetlands for the Tiny Crimson Whelpling, but you're looking at a 1 in 10000 chance for it to drop. And that's if the spot isn't farmed heavily already. Your best bet are humanoids that drop silk and wool, which I mentioned before.

Get to level 60, then worry about farming... no point in trying to farm as a low lvl

-You understand bad. When you said: Stop eng, you mean just stop or change by other gathering prof in order to have 2 gath prof: mining and another one. If it is this, what do you suggest?
-Nah. I heard that with fishing you can make good gold, but lvl fishing is so bored and you waste a lot of time. So maybe is my last option.
-Sure? I just wanna get enough gold for my mount and good gear.

In WoW vanilla you have to work hard to get gold. Unless you have a high level char doing repeating farm runs in specific places.

You can't level all professions, get good gear from the Auction House, buy all skills each level and have money for the mount at level 40 without spending a truckload of extra time just farming gold.

I didn't buy a single skill from level 26-40 to be able to get my mount.
