Threatening bans for "exploiting" unintended quest bug

by H0llowP0int » Thu Feb 11, 2016 11:04 pm

Dear Nostalrius GM's

Let me get this right... so YOU put a bugged quest NPC into the world, and people who probably didnt realize this was a bug got this loot (stop being so RUDE you know some of us never did any of these quests and didnt know it was a bug, I personally thought it was part of the patch as did MANY MANY OTHERS)... probably deleted or vendored their other items and replaced them with said quest items and now you expect us to delete them so we dont get banned for YOUR mistake?????? That is ridiculous. If I vendored them are you going to come take that money away from me????? Especially since now I have to REPLACE said gloves? Did you know the AH prices on cloth gloves has skyrocketed since this happened? Guess I should go to raid tonight with no gloves? It was YOUR screw up. Really MESSED UP to punish your player base for YOUR mistake. Are you going to restore the gloves to me I sold? Are you going to give me money to buy new gloves? It was your mistake, not MINE so I dont get why I am being punished. Such a bunch of BS.

Holy spaz chill. Vendoring your old pair was your call, don't have an aneurism over it.

The only problem is threatening to ban people when the items should just be Q'd from the database and cleaned the items from people's inventory, now they have this huge drama deal on their hands for literally nothing.

I like you Nost, but this was a poor choice in ways to handle it

So i'm supposed to keep all my gear I replace in my bank? Wtf? I'm a lock. Half of my bag space is for shards. I cant carry around anything im not using. How stupid. When you get new gear you don't vendor off your old crap? How unrealistic.

I assume the quest will be available again when it's re-added to the game in its correct state.

Doesn't really solve the issue that my toon and many others are missing a piece of gear now. Stupid to punish players for DEV mistakes.

Not taking responsibility for your mistakes is just how the French roll. Herb spawns on vendor, group queue enabled for AV, set timer on thorium node in Silithus, the list goes on...

The Armaments of War quest chains were added in patch 1.8. Why are the admins creating player drama over these quest rewards? Not only does Wowwiki say that they were added in patch 1.8 but the quest IDs The Calling in the database precede other quests that were added in patch 1.8 like Shrouded in Nightmare

because you were able to complete them without having done the prequests

basically because receiving 2 items was easier than it usually is

If the Nost staff made a mistake the only right thing to do is admit it and fix it. What kind of immature people are gonna try and pin this on the players??? Man up to your mistakes and be fair.

Yesterday I went to Silithus for the first time in months and ran around picking up every quest and not reading any of them. I just assumed the ? quest was a "go to Silithus and talk to so and so." When i saw the blue pants and boots i took out a ticket. I went out the the evening and came back to my guildies telling me that there was a system message hours earlier to delete items or be subject to the tou. Luckily i'm not banned yet.... I deleted it but because i took out a ticket I'm probably on a list of ppl to ban :(
