A breach of intellectual property is very serious. By default, if you are held accountable, you are liable to pay for damages - meaning any profits Blizzard might have lost from people playing Nostalrius. Meaning they would calculate every person played on Nostalrius servers and then add up the normal Blizzard subscription fees plus the duration this server was online since 2015.
That is a big dough of cash that no man in here could afford to pay.
If bailing out is "chicken", then I don't blame them.
