Blizzard may be hiring devs for vanilla after all!

The CLASSIC GAMES section of Blizzard's careers page has seen lots of activity within the couple months.

• On March 3 Blizzard posted an opening for a Senior Software Engineer, Server
• On April 10th they posted a new position for Art Outsource Supervisor
• Within a last couple weeks this appeared: Senior Software Engineer, Anti-Cheat

Blizzard already migrated Diablo 2, Starcraft and Warcraft III into the current Bnet2. What purpose would Server, Art, and Anti-Cheat positions serve other than to power a MMORPG? They could turn out to be nothing, but they feel like vanilla.

Could one of the Nost devs confirm if these positions sound like vanilla positions based on the RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIREMENTS? I mean are they something you would look for when you were looking for new devs?

They also opened up another volley of positions yesterday, with the expressed reasons to make Legacy gaming for Warcraft, diablo, and starcraft with ZERO mention of WOW.

This. I also don't like how far this shitstorm went and what will happen now. Sorry but I don't trust Blizzard anymore, not after all these years, after what they done with Wow and it's fans. Not after "you think you do but you don't". I prefer 100 time more servers like Nostalrius, made by people who love this game to people who love this game. That's it. When Blizzard responded with their shitty primal idea - It means enough for me. They didn't learn anything from this shitstorm, they still don't understand nothing and they still think "you think you do but you don't".

I really hope Blizzard will never release his own legacy servers. I'd like them to hire Nostalrius team or any other group outside of Blizzard, and let them do their job without Blizzard putting his greedy fingers on it.

It would be so ironic if we had to go to private servers anyway because the Blizzard legacy servers aren't Blizzlike enough.

I really like decursive for example, I'm not sure that I could play a vanilla mage if they fuck up the Vanilla API. No way I'm going to click away curses in a 40 man raidsetting. And this is just one of a hundred things that Blizz is fairly likely to mess up.

EDIT: I guess it would be fairly easy to just make cast and targeting not protected functions even if they copy the new API. I might be overly afraid.

They dont need to patch it to any extent than to make it run on modern machines, tbh if they start alter anything it wont be vanilla.
