Who in Blizzard is stoping Legacy?

With Brack being the road block that he is, who else is in the way of legacy servers? I can't say I'm familiar with the staff or its developers, aside from Youthinkyoudobutyoudont Brack.

Sadly no joke!
The devil is in the details. See the movie Idiocracy, Why he discovers society is so incredibly being dumbed down, the movie in general sucks but the core story holds up to what we see today.

Critical thinking is banned from schools, it's on satan list.

Quite likely a junction of the financial department being squeamish with the investment risk and legacy server projections, lead designers feeling annoyed with old versions questioning their ideas (maybe even refusing to work on them altogether) and the PR department not sure on how to spin the project to make it seem Blizzard has more future than past still (even if it isn't true, every company strives to create this image). Morhaime is probably not willing to strong arm over this sentiment regardless if he has some sympathy for legacy or not.

That might not be so far from truth

I have always think, that satan has its part in modern game industry. Big game providers/ distributors works as the nest of satan's greater untold plan.

Growing game companies need to hire new work force - and by then they mistakenly hire economists what instantly start to push decision-makers to open company to stock markets. Decision-makers in their office get regular guest - better to say "devil's advocates" constantly jumping their rooms and whisper their twisted false promises, lies of unlimited fortune and glory. Eventually devil's advocates corrupt the board of leaders and the sin of greed is seeded.

This is all satans plan, now the big game Provider/ Distributor can buy that poor game company - That is the point of no return. Stock investments are minor price for Soul of the company and it's workers. By now satan can accomplish all of his darkest desires and most diabolic plans inside the company.

This is the day, when leader finds out - his real friends what made company great, have now zero voice in game development. His casual decision making with his co-workers and dear friends are now over. Some of his friends mostly fired.

Daily decision making is replaced with new entity - Its called "Board of Directors" filled with representatives of game industry. If not before - now you understand that once beloved company have drop down to the 9th circle of hell. When you step to the room with them - These horrendous abominations does not resemble anything you have seen or even dream before. Faceless men with suits and briefcase. Fallen angels summoned by the glory of satan him self.

These men have all the answers in their briefcase. Like unnatural magic, they have answer for anything you may ask, think or though. Your job is to obey - They say, their methods are proven in hundreds of other game companies they have visited. (And later driven to bankruptcy or merge to their parent company)

Hail Satan

I believe thats just another hollow excuse for why it can't be done, it really makes no sense at all as to why they treat Vanilla is the bastard child of any and all games, they offer support for Broodwar, Diablo 2, Warcraft 2 and 3, but vanilla is just off limits?

Truly this is probably for the best, imagine if they DO in fact release something and its just rife with not-Vanilla $$$$$$ funsies $$$$$$. Having stories to tell, memories of the journey; at least we can say we have those. 10 years from now I doubt anyone will be going on about Cata, Panda, WOD, Legion with the same fondness. Who knows what blizz was thinking when they shutdown nost, that these freeloading players would be forced to come back to retail? Crush their hopes about the whole idea in the process?

As someone who has owned every Blizz title since Warcraft 2, I must accept that this is not the same company I knew, they have ignored and heinously disrespected the players who have been there since the beginning and prefer the fly-by-night entitlement entourage of new gamers they have created over recent years. The real creative passion is long gone, these former titles are not the golden age of gaming, they were successful investment vehicles that generated large profits and all subsequent products must generate comparable results at any cost.

Because Classic WoW would be hard for the average consumer to differentiate.
Starcraft 1 is notoriously different from SC2, so is D2 from D3. WoW has technically always been 'one'.

Not defending them though, just thinking this is how they look at the issue.

Look at the amount of people that believe the Earth is a Ball floating in space yet we only have seen CGI Pictures and Nasa's word for it, while we are prohibited to go to Antarctica. see Antarctic Treaty.
