Sure, if you want to gimp yourself in pve and pvp you can save some silvers. Have fun running dungeons with rank 1 bloodpact and rank 1 firebolt till 60.

Mage would, you honestly don't need alot of gear as a mage, don't buy your own food / water, and can pretty much solo alot of quest / farm faster then any other class, you'll have around 125g by the time you hit 36 Fully skileld and have enoguh blues / greens to Laugh in the face of anyone who attacks you. if not mage, then go for pally. Although gearing for mass aoe farming may take some money, the free mount and being unkillable. while you afk read comics and let mobs break themselves on your body (Aka your dev aura) Is insane.

you asked what class was cheapest to LEVEL, not the cheapest to run dungeons with. and the answer is warlock.

- free mount @ 40
- only buy deamon books for your VW
- only level spells shadowbolt, corruption, curse of agony, siphon life, deamon armor, and lifetap
- when played properly, virtually ZERO downtime
- 2nd only to hunter /played 1-60 speed (my personal best is 5d 17h and change)
- can acquire gear at low levels that last until 60
- like other casters, damage comes from levels/spells, not gear

Actually one mistake, if u really really wanna save gold. Don't buy ranks for shadowbolt, get drain life instead.
While leveling the basic damage is actually more than shadowbolt, excluding crits.
Always did 3-4 mobbs per pull with fear, dots VV tank and drain life together. Litterly no downtime even though I'm doing several mobbs at the time.

I definitely think it's fair to say Mages can make a lot of money, but I think that's a different discussion from which class is the cheapest to level. The idea is; if you started a level 1 character of each class, with 1000 gold each so you didn't have to worry about farming in any sense, which class would end up with the most gold left over?

That being said, I'd be interested if people also had guess for which class makes money the easiest, both while leveling and after 60. I'd probably go Mage here as well, though I feel like hunters and locks could still get the job done =P.

Yeah, by far Warlock is cheapest, and it's also easy to level as they've got pet and rock in PvP, especially during the low levels when most other classes are gimped still. Also, i can't confirm it but i've heard their epic mount cost can be reduced a lot if a more seasoned warlock helps you with the materials or something.

Second cheapest would be Paladin, for the same reason... they save a lot of gold on their mounts.

Third i would say Hunter... since they get a pet early that will help them level and farm easier and safer and they're decent in PvP early on... but mainly because Feign Death will save you a lot of repair bill cash... so will Rogues vanish, but Rogues gotta pay for all the reagents.
