Even if the population is spread out over a few servers that's alright with me. Over time everyone will migrate over to the one they like. I'm sure many of these servers just want your money anyways. It's actually not that expensive to host a server and many of these servers are just in it for the profit.
But it sure sounds like they're releasing it to the public.

We will still be there in the background if you want us to, but will no longer take the lead."
