It's pretty obvious that the staff don't want to publicly say like "Hey guys, this is Nostalrius 2.0, go play there!" since Blizzard could probably have a case against them if they did that.

I think the whole "release the source code, EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY" is a loophole that Nostalrius staff has to use to even release the code. We know how passionate the developers are of this project; it's highly unlikely they will completly let go off the project, they are just going underground.

They might not ever release anything. It's up to them. We don't have any rights to these files so just be happy that it's a possibility that they will release. That's just how it goes.
