If they restore Nost chars surely they would have to restore from every private server in history. Not to mention retail lvl 60s, deleted and leveled alike.

Come on. Get real.

If you cannot accept a lost charachter then choosing to play on a private server was a bone headed decition.

Nostalrius Final Days

"Today is also the day where Nostalrius will start being community-driven in the truest sense of the word, as we will be releasing the source code, and anonymized players data (encrypting personal account data), so the community as a whole will decide the form of the future of Nostalrius."

So these were just words which had no meaning at all?
Why did they write this?
What is happening here?

he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin.

They wrote this assuming Blizzard wouldn't give them the time of day. 250000 signatures later things have changed. As an adult you will learn that change can be hard but you have to deal with it.

^this

things change, they always have and always will. (Life Lesson 101)

Some things change and it is really really bad. Be thankful that this change isn't really life altering.

If you are lucky you will never experience change that is so life altering that you wouldn't recognize your old life.

But on the bright side, there is good change too. I suppose you wouldn't be stomping your feet and crying if the particular change was "Blizz changed their minds and retracted the C &D .. Nost will be up and running tomorrow" Nooo .. you little hypocrites would be jumping with joy and there would be no peep from you about the words having no meaning.

Do you also suffer whenever a saved match from Super Mario gets deleted?
It's a stupid game man, the point of it is being able to play it. Once the end goal is reached, you might as well not have a character at all.

I have Chrono Trigger in this computer, maxxed weapons, armor, tech and have discovered all special tech stones for triple techs with Magus and so on. I never play it nowadays. Getting the New Game+ endings is somewhat fun but not nearly enough to justify blasting through content at lighting speed while I press 1 button.

Instead, when I do want to replay the game, I delete my previous saved game and start fresh again.

I don't get this.

My original Vanilla chars are dead on retail b/c I can't play them due to the WoW:Retail being a travesty.

However, every single time I start a new Night Elf/Troll Hunter or Human/UD/Troll Rogue on any server, it's as if I instantly get back my original characters as they were in 2006.

So, I really can't get this attachment ppl have to their toons on a private server. IMO there's three kinds of people who worry so much abt their lost toons:

1. E-bayers (i.e. ppl who bought their toons from a Chinese company that sold power-levelling)

2. Ppl who paid a lot of cash to some Chinaman or someone else to buy a character in end-game Raid gear or purple PvP gear.

3. Lazy people who dread going through levelling again.

In any case, this reminds me of WoW:Retail baddies that whined at the Official Forums, after having tried Nostalrius, that a murloc (sic) managed to solo them. Whining about lost toons IMO says you're bad.

Well, i'd say levelling and grinding ranks is more fun and opportunities to make friend that raiding...
... when you're full set and/or r14 the game is somehow like retail, almost dead...
I'll do it again and again (Nostalrius wasn't my first private server experience indeed... so i already leveled and geared many 60's and even a few 60 twinks on retail in wotlk and even in WoD)
So, I don't care about my Nost toons
.... and yes it would be nice to be able to do it on an official Bliz² legacy server (indeed i think they should reset vanilla legacy servers every 2 years or 1 year and half so i can focus on one toon and then try another one after reset... but maybe i'm a crazy fool considering i played GTA San Andreas for years starting from scratch or from an early save eache time... just for fun... just cause i loved this game i consider the best 3D GTA)
It's all about the JOURNEY not the achievments...
