Maybe Nostalrius Team and Community can define a strategic agenda of events/news to keep people in touch.

Some ideas:
  • The day of all Trolls! (Joking with the current state of retail version, like a player trying to do "Leeroy Jenkins" but alone);
  • The day of Voice Acting/Pets! (Where we put our pets (real pets) in a funny moments. Like... I am painted like an Orc, I do a voice acting quest with him... only to receive his loot)
  • The day of J. Allen Brack (Were we want the most funny way to say "You think you do, but you dont..."
  • The day of Mark Kern (Where we try to recover his history and his influence as Team Leader in vanilla version of the game)
  • The day of Cataclysm (Where we collect panic expression moments, when we see something we don't like in the game)
  • Final day : The day of Nostalrius (Where we show to all, what we pretend with legacy realms and what we like to have in game)

Maybe this way (with events and news) players would stay focused with community because it's funny!

Just because we lie dormant does not mean our numbers are decreasing. When we are given a final yes or no, the community will voice their opinions yet again.

Schreier: Sure, it just feels like the type of thing that—I didn’t even realize how many people are such huge legacy server fans until the recent outcry, but it seems like the type of thing that it would be a shame to not give them what they want.

Chilton: Yeah, and we certainly hold onto hope that some day we’ll be able to do that.

source: http://kotaku.com/blizzard-talks-world- ... Socialflow

if you read the whole q and a chilton basically makes it sound like it is almost impossible to do. But they hope that maybe ''some day'' it can be done. As in some day way way in the future. We wont be getting any legacy servers any time soon (as in atleast the next year from the sounds of it). Best bet is to hope another nost like quality server comes along.

Okay guys! Im back. And I totally agree that we must do something else than waiting the Blizzcon. Our next purpose should be to spread the legacy voice at people who didnt hear it yet. Then, we will be stronger than ever when the community will wake up, the 4 and 5 november, for the Blizzcon.

We need to reach people who stopped WoW and loved Vanilla, TBC a/o Wotlk. We can remember actual players how great was the game. Learn it to new players, if there are any...

I will think about what we can precisely do. When we would have some good ideas on this thread, we should contact the Nostal team, Mark Kern, and every streamer who was in the petition to spread our events.

Sorry, that just isn't going to happen. They already stated that they have to protect their IP. They can't "sorta" do it and sorta not.

People will have to come up with other ideas for trying to keep the community together. Try to think of things that will grab Blizzard's attention too. I don't think silent waiting is encouraging them to move forward. They need to know that everyone hasn't just given up.

So, what can we do?

First, we need an "official" legacy T-shirt. This would have a huge impact at the Blizzcon if the legacy community wears it. If Mark Kern and Sodapopin bought it, everybody would be excited about having their own. As soon as we receive it, we would take a photo and post it on Twitter or here. It will also spread the legacy movement in the streets!

We could make 2 or 3 differents colors. The Nostal team should make a poll to decide which one would be the legacy T-shirt among several.

I already see a lot of T-shirt on Twitter. We just have to suggest the idea to Nostalrius.

This is the first step.

For the second one, I love the idea of a Nostalrius day! But we need to involve all the legacy community, even from differents private servers. So we should call it the "Legacy day". I dont think we should do a "troll day", or "J. Allen Brack", "Mark kern" day. We should do everything the same day. It should be 1 day per week until the Blizzcon. Maybe the wenesday, because its the beginning of a week on WoW.

What the legacy day could be?

First, we can post a thread here for every Legacy day. The principe is that everyone of us is allowed to only post 1 thing to illustrate legacy (If we did more, every week would be the same thread). It could be an ingame screenshot of our own experience in Nostalrius ; a recital of what we like in Vanilla, or why we like it ; a photomontage (is it english?) with J.Allen Brack ; a summary of our fight against Blizzard ; maybe a comic?! We could also announce here every initiative we take, like the T-shirt! It could be very nice to see such a thread every week if a lot of people are participating.

Furthermore, a legacy youtuber could start a serie of videos. He would present Vanilla in 10 minutes every Legacy day to people who doesnt know what it is. He could present 1 class per week: spells, epic gear, particulars skills, specs, etc... Once the 9 classes presented, he could present the particular gameplay of Vanilla, raids, PvP, cities, TBC, Wotlk. We are at 18 weeks from the Blizzcon! Im sure some streamers would talk about Nostalrius and Vanilla the legacy day if we ask them.

The main goal of the legacy day would be to spread the thread and the video every where on internet: officials forums, private servers, officials servers, Twitter, Facebook, reddit, MMo champions, judgehype, 4chan etc. If this succeed, everybody would know that the legacy community is well alive.

The fact is that is not very difficult to accomplish because we have a lot of streamers and youtubers with us. Im sure some of them would be glad to do the videos. And there already are some T-shirt on sell.

What do you think? Brainstorming time guys! Lets add some ideas. Once we are agree on what to do, we will present this little project to the Nostal team, Mark Kern etc. The legacy day would have a huge impact if they make it official.

Okay, I was thinking: a thread on this forum would maybe not attract a lot of people. We could just do the "thread" with #LegacyDay on Twitter! We would have more impact!

Selling T-shirts is a way to generate income, so I propose to not give the profit to a random seller.
We can choose 1 seller that has the best price/discount (chinese price) and put all our profit in a kickstart project to fund our legacy realm and if our cause fails, we give the money to charity (like a health investigation institution).

#LegacyDay already exists on twitter and is not related with wow.
Is better to use #WoWLegacyDay (I have checked this and gives none results... for now)

Blizzard is probably hoping all this is going to blow over now, but if they don't announce Legacy at the next Blizzcon, the shit will be right back on the fence. It would be even worse next time around because now they'll have led everyone on with false hope all year. No one likes a dicktease. Shutting down our server sets a clear expectation that they intend to host it themselves, and dragging this out all year afterwards just adds more to it.

There won't be legacy servers.
Nost team might get a job and that's about it. They don't really care about the project else they wouldn't have closed it and started flirting with blizz asap.

They abused us as a springboard, legacy is gone for good.
