The retail community on the forums are cancer.

Many are Blizzard fanboys who like LFR, pet battles, achievement hunting, heirloom leveling and collecting toy boxes. They will panic and start attacking you if you mention how any of those things ruin the game or if you simply say that you liked anything before WOTLK.

This is probably the best summary I've seen of the official WoW forums. The fanboys pretty much defend every bad decision and hold some weird major hostility towards Vanilla and BC. Many of them didn't even play it but the few that did, I can only surmise, got booted from dungeons/raids for sucking, and instead of getting better, waited until blizzard nerfed everything, and then talk about how great it is now as opposed to back then.

The worst is when they make up lies like "it took hours to just get a group for a dungeon"..... yeah, if you were in a shitty guild, didn't have any friends, didn't properly play your class, and didn't know how to use trade chat properly, all of that combined, and yeah, you may have trouble. The rest of us though had a blast though.

Long story short the folks on the WoW forums are the worst kind of fans lol.

Every time I check the retail forums all I see are Blizz fanboys with the LFR, flying and battle pet dick sucking or some retards posting shit like "I love pandas" or "Elfs are master race!!!". I never saw this kind of stuff in Nostalrius forums.

The in-game community in retail is just as cancerous if not worse, the amount of hostility and toxicity people have towards others and specially new players is tremendous, many new players end up quitting because of assholes harassing them, specially in dungeons where many get kicked out simply because they have no heirlooms. At this point anyone can be an asshole and get away with it whether it's by changing their character's name, realm, faction and so on.

The game is too easy. Any toxic kid can level a character to max level within a week with no effort at all or simply ask their parents to buy a boost for them.

Here in Nostalrius there were the occasional trolls in-game, many earned a bad reputation among the community. I remember the people that wiped raids in purpose and ninja looted items, I'm sure most of them had a pretty tough time getting into groups later on. The most assholes I saw were in the forums, specially the PvP section but I didnt care much of what they did and continued playing the game I love.

It's the rock bottom of the barrel when it comes to posters, and they begin filling up forums after every intelligent player has left and moderation is no longer performed.
