People will realize that fresh starts are fun, until you have 5k+ people in starting area kill wolfs, if you get ahead of train it's chill until 60, if you start slacking or you're not so lucky to get ahead at the start you're fucked.

Plus I just wanna play my old character, I don't want to farm MC / BWL again for months, I was hyped as fuck for silithus and war effort, silithus pvp gonna be the shit.

People who get angry at old server advocates and people who want to play their old chars are just retards who didn't deposit much into the game or casuals, nobody who is actually serious and enjoys competition is hyped for fresh start, saying you grew out of your old character makes even less sense since you actually advocate and want to create a new char that you have currently 0 affection with.

Play what you want, old server won't be dead, fresh server won't be dead either, but saying old server will be dead to get more people into fresh start by projecting your reasons on them is pretty hilarious.

Shit, after ED died I tried lvling on nost with what, 1-2k playerbase at launch? It was impossible, I ragequit and lvled again 5 months later, old server will indeed keep losing population as people get bored perhaps and we definetly won't see renewal from new players who want to join, anyway, aren't you retards tired of farming MC & BWL on every private server for a year??? I want to experience months of AQ40 patch and items on populated server.

Old realm will for sure have enough players. There´s so many that´s been loling around on K2 until now as well, which has only gotten as far as BWL, and I would assume most of those would be returning to their old Nost characters.

The old server had at minimum 10-11k and 13-15 peak... at work case you lose 1/3 of people the server still has between 6 and 10k online at all times... to hell with a fresh start. I'll take my feared priest and already formed up guild plus naxx and AQ over MC and bwl any day.

Fresh start is really attractive for several reasons.
- It's a fresh start (duh) with new people to interact with, a chance to play through the low-lvl content again, and let's face it, that was Nostalrius' strong point and they nailed it way better than anybody out there...it's a chance to start over.

However, I will be going back to my original toons because I have limited time to play this game these days, and my characters are well-positioned to continue raid/gear progression if this new project manages to deliver AQ and/or Naxx, plus the war effort, rep grinds, T0.5 quests, etc. A lot of the reason why I'm playing on private servers is to experience the original content at-level in an authentic way, and Nostalrius has been great for that.

Who cares, the people who would ditch their contribution into their old characters for a fresh start, are likely ones that are playing on-off anyway or people that quit the game after clearing the content 2-3 times.
There will be enough established guilds and pvp'ers on the old server and a big enough population to play decently. The only reason to not stay on the old server is if you didnt contribute much to your endgame play.
On top of that, the old server will always be ahead in progression, enough people will favour a server which has content released up to AQ40 over one that just released BWL.

Maybe people aren't in a rush to get back into raidlogging.
