Anti-cheat, map improvements, and a few others are also part of the mangos fork from http://getmangos.eu and publicly available for every server to use. Performance improvements for networking and more players are currently implemented in cmangos, and should also allow for player numbers such as seen on Nostalrius.

I don't know the first thing about this, it just seems natural to me that nost releasing what they have would be helpful to others :D not trying to say its better than yours or anything. Good that it's already being offered though.

IMHO forks are inherently good. Not everyone has the same view on how to implement a feature.

So projects can benefit from seeing other approaches, either to see their own approach is better or their approach needs improvements.

Yes exactly :D I know nothing of the subject at hand it's just that it makes sense that more people contributing different ideas is always a good thing. Other projects can take it or leave it, at least it will be out there.

As the Master of Naxxramas, Leader of the Cult of the Damned and Majordomo of the Lich King I demand a buff, I am way to poorly scripted on this "MaNGOS" of yours...

Thank the gods. Legends arrived to save the day!

Nostalrius. God knows I love you.

Luda I do want to personally thank you for all the hard work you have put in over the years. I have been following you. Pretty much nerd breathing over your shoulders all day. (jk) Thank you for your contribution to Classic WoW as whole. You are also a legend.

Blasphemy! C++ is one of the languages of the gods, bettered only by C itself. If it was good enough for Kernigan and Ritchie, it's good enough for the rest of us.

K&R had nothing to do with C++, I thought that was all Bjarne?

I'm a C programmer. None of this C++ irradiated horror for me!

That's the nice thing about MaNGOS: Go script yourself! 8-)

Yes, C++ was Stroustrop, of course - I was referring to C. C++ was what we used in college courses, but C was what I used in my first internship - it taught me about pointers, memory allocation and de-allocation, bitwise operations, and programming in general. Just a terrific, powerful language.

I'm a C programmer. None of this C++ irradiated horror for me!

Same here - at heart, anyway - these days I spend more time in meetings than coding =(.
