You realise that the only reason the PvP server population is horrendously inflated is because the whole China IRL money making ghetto is there? Without the Asian farmers population would peak at MAYBE 6k. PvE realm peaks at around 3k. Quite fitting, considering the PvP one was the first and only option for many months and plenty of people commited to it before any alternatives showed up.
Notice how Nost PvE is 3x more populated than supposedly well made Kronos DESPITE being PvE? Hurr durr carebear servers have no demand etc! Sure thing.

, I said it because here there are some people who say that the main problem with server pop is because most of them are chinese people. But the fact is that, two days ago (7 Feb), I was playing at 9:00 PM European Time, and the population was like 9k-10k. Do you know what time was in China while I was playing? 4:00 AM in China. I do not really think that a lot of Chinese people play at 4:00 AM.

You can check it on https://nostalrius.pagekite.me/

And not only the 7th Feb. For example, if we check 31th Jan, we see the same patron: At 9:00 PM, we can see a population of 10,5k. And again, at this time in Europe, in China is 4:00 AM.

The point is, when the server pop reach its max population is during 3PM-4PM. But this is not because most of the population are Chinese, no, is because during this time Europeans, American, South American, Chinese and other Asian peolpe are playing. I mean, these are the hours where everyone plays. But you can notice that the Chinese population is 2k-4k when you analyze the population when they are sleeping, and again, this pop is between 8k-10k.

So, if we make numbers, we can say that Chinese, and other Asian people, because in Asia there are other nations, not only China, are 15%-25%.

So, no, they are not the majority.

Observe how the peak on PvE server is almost perfectly lined up with when PvP drops by 3-4k from its own peak :) Basically every time.

The peak is bigger because the PvP has more pop than PvE. Read my post. When China sleeps, the pop is like 8k-9k.

I feel it should be pointed out that the humans and orcs made peace and formed an alliance in wc3 after defeating Grom Hellscream and the fell orcs, and later formed an alliance with the night elves to defeat the burning legion. I remember when I cared about the lore deeply that this was on my mind, that the factions were supposed to have found peace, even after Proudmore attacked during the Rexxar campaign. IMO pve is not necessarily the carebear server but is the one more inline with lore

As someone that chiefly plays WoW because of the Warcraft RTS series, I agree wholeheartedly. I think I talked about this with mozi before, but the whole 2 factions at war thing is entirely for gameplay purposes. And not even the most interesting factions. By the end of TFT, the most interesting sides of WC story were: The Scourge under the new Arthas+Ner'zhul merger, the Illidari with Illidan/Kael/Vashj, and then and only as third, the new coalition of human/orc/nelves allies, with the Burning legion being the 4th hidden ever present menace under kil'jaeden.

Instead we got the 3rd rate one, split in 2, for gameplay purposes, progressively killing the interesting factions in epik raids where the bosses were turned into clowns and cartoonish villains.

The pve server came months later so people didn't want to restart.

That's not correct. During the last months a lot of new people came to Nostalrius, people who started being lvl 1, with no alters and no gold. So for them, the election of the server wasn't determined by the "restart". Why didn't they choose PvE then? Because they wanted to do OPvP, one of the main purposes of joining a vanilla server, and that's happen in the PvP one.

Thank you for telling me why I didn't reroll into PvE.
